I have a toggle switch [spring loaded to center] next to my trans check light. When I move it to either position, the gear selected window goes blank for a couple of seconds, but nothing else happens. I assume this is for reading trans codes or levels.
Does anyone with a series 60 with the ht740 know what it does or how it works? Tech support at Newell says its a transmission overide in case of fault, maybe, maybe not.
Thanks, Jim
Willow Tree Resort is actually in Longs, SC but is short drive into Myrtle Beach. It is a quiet country setting resort with the largest spaces we have ever seen! Beautiful place to stay and everyone was extremely kind and friendly! We found this beautiful place on an afternoon outing, LaBelle Amie Vineyard, www.LaBelleAmie.com. They have beautiful grounds, patio & porch areas to enjoy a glass of wine and frequently have live music! You would enjoy the peace and quiet of the place even if nothing was going on!

Hello!
I'm Matthew, I've made an agreement in principal to purchase an '86 40' Newell. Just pending a few issues being taken care of at a repair facility to agree on terms for the price.
I do IT work (I keep all the servers running for an environmental consulting company) and have been afforded the opportunity to work 100% remotely, doing visits at our companies offices throughout the country. My wife and 2 teens (who are homeschooled) will be joining on the adventure.
I just wanted to say hello, I'm sure I'll be posting quite a bit in the future. Hopefully the transaction is completed within the week!

Not sure if this is a good place for this question but here goes:
I have been toying with the idea of constructing a metal building large enough for TWO RVs (up to 50 foot coaches with slides) in popular areas to rent out. The idea is that the facility would have two 'apartments/condos' where the RVs would be stored side by side (with maybe a chain link fence or wall between them. In front of them would be space for a car on each side. Behind the coaches would be enough room to have a 'Florida' room where you could live if you wanted to or for storage while living here. These would be situated in decent parts of town so that they are nearby everything and have a patio to enjoy the outdoors if wanted.
I don't know how much they would rent for but what do you think? is this something you would rent rather than stay in an RV park?
I am thinking the first one will be either in Huntsville, AL or Conroe, TX (or maybe outside Denver, CO)...
Just a heads up: The previous owner of my coach has a Ready Brute and Brake Buddy that I have been needing to sell for a while.
I think the Brake Buddy should get about $300 or so - it looks perfect but I have not tried it since my Jeep has towed brakes already.
The Ready Brute is on an eBay auction starting at $100:

Thanks,

In the electrical panel near the entrance steps, I have a Sigma 1c on/on SPDT switch that is bad. I have ordered a new switch but I am curious regarding the wiring. There is a brown wire to the center of three posts and two identical green wires to the outside two posts. One green wire operates the numerous small overhead lights through the "L" pad, but I cannot figure out what the other green wire leads to. Any ideas?
Richard how to tell if its the alternator or the voltage regulator
We have a 14 foot collapsible aluminum ladder (that I really like) and was wondering how safe it is to walk on the roof? I need to get up there and redo the silicone (use sikoflex) around the screw holes. Can I walk anywhere on the roof or do I need to stay on the 'ribs'?
I need to get under the coach and would like to do this while in the campground. We are sitting on about 24" x 24" thick concrete runners (mobile home park) so I was thinking about getting some wood to create a ramp. I have done this for other coaches but not for one this heavy (about 20k on front wheels). What would you recommend for wood to use for this? I plan to throw it away when we leave so it does not have to be 'nice'... I need to get some good jack stands for it but just don't want another thing to store in the basements (we are full-timers)... What I really need is a 25' stacker trailer to store all this junk (and two cars) in! Lol
