hi guys,

my new shop will have its own 1000 gallon septic tank. the sewer main coming out of the shop is 3" that will go to the septic. i am putting a separate line to the tank that is for the rv pad that will be next to the shop.

a couple of questions for you.

1. are the in ground sewer connections at rv parks 3" or 4"?

2. is there any need for a separate vent for the rv dump to allow the waste to flow? i know when i stayed at steve B's he just has a regular cleanout for the sewer on his rv pad next to his house.

the connection will be only about 20' from the septic tank.

I am in Utah and having trouble with the turbo. Traveling from Frisco CO to Torrey UT I lost 250 torque and the ck eng light would come on when the turbo kick in and would go out when going down hill. The fault code is 147 unt vanes failure eg. We left Torrey 2 days latter traveling to Zion UT and no problem with torque back to 1650. Will be leaving here going to Page AZ hope the problem doesn't come back. Any ideals? Thanks

Newell gave me the codes for the four Inron paints used on my coach. Has anyone found a paint supplier that can crisscross the Inron codes and supply a substitute nearly the same colors?

I would like to spend a few weeks traveling the length of the Oregon Coast Highway 101. Has anyone done this in a coach as large as the Newell 45? If so, I would appreciate knowing your experience.

i am trying to decide what air compressor to get for my new shop.

the 60-80 gallon vertical compressors are easy to find and relatively inexpensive.

but, i have a couple of buddies that have the horizontal ones and i really like that. one has a quincy.

i am going to pour a pad at the outside far corner of the shop and put the compresor outside. will likely make a shade screen or something to keep it out of the sun.

so the real question is.....how big of one do i need?

i may keep the coach plugged into it like they do at newell. i will run some air tools and they really take the cfm. but not very often.

do you guys have any recommendations? i am thinking a 5-7.5hp 240v singe phase with a pump that does from 15-20 cfm and a 50-80 gallon tank. but that is pretty broad price and size ranges.

i keep looking for a used commerical one but they are mostly all 3 phase.

thoughts?

tom

I thought I would start a thread about those interested in repowering their coach, there is definitely pros and cons on the subject. Please post your opinions positive or negative, I have repowered both of my classics and am very happy with them, some of you prefer the original engines.
Here is a thread from the other end of the spectrum, the same mechanic did the repower on my 76, it shows that anything is possible. It is a lengthy thread but a good read.

Need help with a plumbing problem. We have a "new" coach 2002 Newell, rear bath. Integrated Grohmix shower fixture. We have no hot water coming through the shower head, however, there is hot water to the fixture. Have disassembled, followed all instructions, can't find ANYTHING wrong. Does this mean the thermo element is bad. HELP.
