In having a conversation with one of my Newell friends I was reminded that identifying the air bag numbers on our coaches was one of my winter jobs. Since his coach is one number from mine, we are going to make what may be a dangerous assumption that our air bags are the same. Apparently the only way to identify the air bags is to remove them as the number is on the top and/or bottom. If any one has replaced the air bags on a 1999, IFS coach, you could save me some work. While my air bags are not cracked and look pretty good I would like to know the Firestone number before I need it.

I am starting with the right front. It appears that there are two bolts on the bottom mounting plate and three bolts on the top mounting plate. There is also an air line on top. It appears unbolting the mounting bolts, unscrewing the air line and prying down the extended air bag will allow removal. Is there any one who can confirm or straighten me out on removing a front air bag?

Pilot home office is here in the Knoxville and they started as convenience stores. The program they have with the RV Plus Card is a great deal.

I don't think many Newells have this feature, but finding some of this obscure stuff is the hardest. These are more common on boats. Here is what it looks like.

Finding a bulb can sometimes be challenging from the standpoint of some one stocking them and price. I have seen them priced as high as $79.99--grab your ankles! Here is the lowest price I found.

Here is an item for owners of coaches with inverters that should probably be in your spare box. If it blows you will have no 12V house power or inverter. They come in different amperages, but the one on my coach is a 300 amp. The amperage rating for the fuse is marked on it. I do not have one on my starting batteries, but some Newells do. Here is one source, but I'm sure they are available many places.

Both Phil Horton & I had to replace the flexible hose in our kitchen faucets due to restriction. The Grohe part # is 46 092 000. Both Phil & I purchased replacements at Amazon, but they are available elsewhere. Before you buy any parts for your Grohe faucets, call Grohe---the faucets manufactured from 1997 to present have a lifetime warranty. Grohe customer service is very good and if you can convince them that a part failed to perform as designed they will send you the part free.

Hi all, from what I have read it appears the height of the 1990 Newell is 13 ft 3 inches with roof AC....I have a buddy with a 70 ft Quonset but the sliding entrance doors height is 12 ft 8 inches.....is the height measure with hwh all the up or down and could it be adjusted to fit the clearance?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Bill

I recently had the water pump changed since it started leaking. Since then I drove it to Cedar Key, then over to Silver Springs. Now I'm in Summerdale, AL about 900 miles of driving since getting the water pump changed.
A couple days ago in Silver Springs I noticed the coolant overflow tank was almost empty so I added 1/2 gallon coolant. When I pulled into Summerdale the coolant tank was almost empty again. I just looked all around the engine and hoses, in all of my basement compartments, and anywhere else I thought I'd maybe find a gallon of green coolant that leaked out. Nothing!
Engine oil looks good and hasn't been growing, tranny fluid and power steering fluid both look clean.
I was thinking maybe I have an air bubble that is just now working out of the cooling system but just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything important.
I just added water to the overflow tank to see if it leaks out there while I'm sitting for a couple days.
Any ideas?

Howdy all NewellGurus forum members and friends.

A friend of mine, David Brady, decided to start his own Wanderlodge Forum. It is at www.wanderlodgegurus.com

He asked if I minded if he used a similar name to ours and I had no issue with it. (nice of you to ask David) It has a very similar look and feel to ours since he is using the same MyBB forum software. So though it looks very much like Newellgurus, it is entirely Davids. Hey, there is not too much you can do to make a simple forum look very different when you want to keep it simple and cheap!

David is an incredibly knowledgeable and nice fellow that I have gone to many times for advice on different coach related questions. There are many similar systems, engines and other things between our Newells and the Wanderlodges. I very nearly bought a Wanderlodge before I found my 90 Newell!

I am glad to have him as a friend.

Go have a look! If you want to join his forum, the process is about the same as it was to join ours. He will welcome you with open arms.

Have a great day!

Tom
