No I think that is something for the ABS perhaps. My connector was mounted just under the dash above my right knee when sitting in the driver seat. It’s a rectangular connector, called an ALDL connector.

Possibly, no two Newells are alike. That looks an awful lot like the j1708 connector. Where is that connector located? And who knows if someone in the coach's past replaced the ALDL connector with the more common J1708.

This connector is in the front most driver side bay in front of the steer tire.  There is the HWH stuff in there, and some other computer lookin type things..

I have that same kind of connector in that bay, assumed it was for the abs. I would look around inside under the dash.

Mine is a 12 pin rectangular plug just under the dash, I use silverleaf on the Newell and blue fire on the Prevost. Interesting story my niece is married to the son of one of the VP's at newell, I told him about my coach and he asked what number it is and he said "I installed the dash and all the gauges in your coach, those a gauges are no good" Smile

Yes, that is the ALDL connector. FYI you can access both the DDEC and the Allison form this connector. I know this because Andy from the Wanderlodge forum reprogrammed my Allison through my ALDL connector.

You will need the adapter cable for the Bluefire that I mentioned in my earlier post.

Are you talking about Bluefire? You can use it on your phone but you’re going to have to set up screens that will fit on your phone. Most folks use an IPad, seems to work the best. I broke down and bought an IPad. Of you also want to use the IPad for GPS navigation you need to get a cell capable iPad. I learned this at our WOG seminar, but forgot it and when I ordered my iPad I did not get the cell capable pad and GPS does not work well without a cell service. Anyways, I am fine with that, as I run my phone as the GPS and the IPad is dedicated to the Bluefire.
