Definitely user installed. Good news is they used the Cole Hersee paddle switch so it would match the others. Is is single position, or on off on? Is momentary?
Some other WAGs. Check the headlight function, some Newells of that area were wired to have both sets of lights come on with high beams.
Do confirm that you are not activating one of the dump valves...........
Does it have any impact on the jake brake? Some of us have wired in activation off of the brake pedal.
