I see the engine temp gauge slightly over 200 and it appears check engine light is on…..that is hot for an old 8v92 at idle
absolutely that was one of my concerns. Also the vote I checked the alternator while running and only got about 12.8 I checked the batteries and got 12.6 so I will be taking the alternator off on Monday and taking it to a rebuild shop also I ran the code with my Prolink determine that the Diesel shop that is at absolutely lied about the coolant level but it’s my fault because I should’ve checked it before operating the engine. It was low about 4 gallon. my question is where did the coolant go now it has that for six years. my plan is to do a coolant flush and change out the air dryer filter and see if that helps if you have any other suggestions for getting the temperature under control. Please let me know. Also, is there another way for you to check the temperature because my gauges don’t seem to be reliable for instance, my speedometer is wonky. my fuel tank gauge is crazy so I’m not 100% sure I can rely on the gauges. I did thermal gun on the engine and the radiator and the temperature did not seem to be even close to 200  I’m not sure if I did it correctly
