I cannot find the air bags for the tag axle using the numbers given previously - anyone have a good number that could be cross-matched? Where are you sourcing your bags from? I really like the idea of using the existing pedestal and just putting the airbag on it - assuming it is not leaking… I don’t have the airbags out yet as I don’t want to pull it apart and then have to wait to find the parts so I’m going to get the bags quoted above and hope for the best…
BTW, I was quoted over $800 each for the front air bags at Newell yesterday 01-13-2026 … :-(

Super fast shipping if yours has the same bags as my 96 has then the part numbers are
AS9387 for the tag axle. Price 125.00 each 3/8 NPT INLET
AS8897 for the drives and steers. Price 155.00 3/4 INLET
The Firestone 9447 bags are no longer made. S you'll have to decide if you want to run new airlines from the 6 pack to the bags or get 1 inch to 3/4 adapters. Running new airline is the easy way. If so order 10 of the AS 9387 ALL BAG DIMENSIONS ARE THE SAME AS THE 9447 EXCEPT INLET SIZE!

Hey guys,

I need some help, we are traveling to Florida, currently in near Baton Rouge and I have a leaking air bag on the drive axle. I have the diagnosis but I need the part numbers for the air bags. 2003 Newell, non steerable, #676. The drive axle bags are Goodyears on there now. I am going to have to use a shop to install, I am trying to minimize down time. I need to order new bags.

I have found the Conti Springs in stock in New Orleans:
ContiTech 782NP04 4 pieces I think this is what I need???

Or do I need:
Conti AS8897

Planning ahead are the drive axle and front suspension the same air bags?

Any help greatly appreciated.

After a little more study, I think these are the bags I need for the drive axle: ContiTech Air Spring 64664 / Monaco 0180.4591
Part #: AS8897|Brand: CONTITECH|MPN #: 64664

Wish I could help Mark, but I went another route for my drive axle and used bags that I knew that I could get easily. You may try sending a PM to Carl and see if he can confirm. Looks like the  8897 bags will fit, but you will need to get an adapter from the 1” line to 3/4” to go into the bag.

My post above yours has links right to them from MJHeavy truck. Those bags are the same as on my 95 if so. Cheapest I found anywhere and fast shipping. Even got one replaced on warranty with overnight shipping to Alaska. Owner is super helpful. Everything ships right from Missouri so should get to you quickly.
