located a large air leak
#1

Can anyone tell me what this is? It is located on the driver's side end of an air tank running transverse to the coach between the rear wheels.       It was releasing a large amount of air. iIt stopped when I tapped the rod protruding from the end with a hammer.  Does that reset it or do I need to replace it.

Looks like the safety blow off valve. You may need to check your dryer or your governor and make sure your not overpressurizing your air system. It could have just been a fluke but I would keep an eye on your air pressure, those usually blow off around 150 psi to protect from blowing something else out.

I wouldn't mess around and replace it. Make sure you use the correct one or you might hear a air bag explosion.

Thanks guys, I think I will replace it. No point in risking damage to other components.
