Basically you would NOT hit your brakes but accelerate to overcome the sharp pull to the side of the blow out. Then when you have steering control to slowly decelerate.

What I have learned from 2 tows: Raise coach up with air bags to keep the generator cowling under front end from coming in contact with the wheel lift on wrecker. We have a straight front axle. Also they need to use "tall" forks when lifting the front of coach. They will have to run an air hose and light wire to back of coach to hook into air system. Make sure to protect from fittings rubbing on coach. Other than that, have a pretty fat wallet handy. Heavy haul tows are +/- 10.00 per mile after figuring dead head & return charges into bill.

Hi all thanks for your comments. I'll try to explain and provide details about this blowout. It was the passenger front tire. Tire 2 years old, approximately 15k mi on the tire. We don't believe we ran over anything. We did save the carcass and will take it to Newell to see if they can tell anything about it. We were going 65mph on level pavement, in the RH lane. James said he was surprised he didn't have to use a lot of effort to keep the coach straight, and that the coach pretty much self braked due to the drag of the blown tire which seemed to stay under the wheel, the wheel was not damaged nor the wheel well or neighboring wire bundle. It didn't take long to get the coach onto the shoulder and stopped. There was no other damage except the tire sensor which was toast obviously. Newell stated they did not know of a blowout on a 365, this was the first. Also in order to be towed, Newell said the drive train would have to be removed. James finally got the road service rep off of towing and send a mobile tire service person instead. Hope helpful.

James not on the forum, not his thing ~ road service company we used simply gave up trying to find a tire saying 2 weeks out. My son in trucking business found one in our home town, Tulsa, after many calls 200 mi radius of Alexandria, LA. Of course Newell could have sent one via hot shot last resort as $$. Air pressure 115psi cold 130psi hot. Tire temp when blew approx 130 degrees and 130 psi per tire sensor gauge when it blew. Outside temp approx 85 degrees. Carol
