We normally don't watch a lot of TV. Today as we monitored Irma, I guess we had it on for several hours when a blower fan came on that I had never heard before. I tracked it down behind the TV. I guess it is to ventilate excess heat from the original 42' plasma monitor ( you know the boat anchor mounted above the driver and passenger seats). It took about an hour for the thing to shut off. I was about to pop the breaker for the entertainment area when it finally went off. Are there any other controls besides the temperature switch that turned it on-off?
I suspect this would not be needed with a current TV?

Gurus,
I have had a weird leveling related issue for a while. One of the senior gurus reminded me that collecting data is a valid way of isolating problems and identifying the likely cause. This post is to document the data collected on my coach. I present a problem and an approach to troubleshoot but not an answer. (Because I have not figured it out yet).
In a nutshell, the issue is that if I leave the coach in travel mode at full travel height, the coach stays level and does not leak down. However, If my air bags are somewhat below travel height, they will leak rapidly down in the rear of the coach. (For example if I auto level, or turn tightly where the HCV has let air out on one side, ...).
I have attached a document with three graphs of data collected over the past couple of days....The coach was parked on a reasonably level pad. Measurements were made at the bottom of the body panels behind front wheels and the bottom of the body panels in front of drive wheels.
Three tests were run:
No Auto Level (travel mode). The coach was put into travel mode and measurements taken over a 36 hour period.
Auto Level On -> Off . The coach started at travel height, and was then auto leveled. Auto level was then turned off and measurements taken after 2 hours.
Travel -> Dump Air (No Auto Level) -> Off . The coach started at travel height. Air was dumped using the leveling system for 8 seconds. Then the HWH was turned off. Measurement was taken after 4 hours.
Observations:
1) The coach does not leak much in level mode with the bags full.
2) Auto-level results in the coach dropped in the rear.
3). If I partially deflate the bags using the dump valve, the coach will continue leaking down to the bottom. (This is with the key off and with auto level turned off).
4) With the key off and auto level off, the coach should maintain its height, but does not.
5) The leak appears to be in the rear air system.
6) When the leak is present, both the left and right rear air bags seem to track each other.
7) The leak down is not related to the auto-re-level logic because auto level was turned off in each scenario.
Next steps....
1) Adjust the mercury switch so that auto-level results in an initially level coach. I will do this by using a 4 ft level to manually level the coach, then will zero out the mercury switch.
2) Since the problem seems to be related to the amount of air in the bags, I will replace the HCVs. My HCVs are original in the coach and I really just want to replace them for general purposes. I will try the tests again with new HCVs. In the meantime, I will use my isolation tool to try to isolate any leaks to the 6 pack solenoids or downstream air bags.
3) I will also repeat scenario 2 (partial air in bags) and see if I can detect a leak with my sonic leak detector.
Cheers,
bill

I posted a question over in the technical section about using the air hose in the engine compartment for filling the tire. It was answered and helpful but one of the people reminded me that I should introduce myself, give the coach number and maybe a few pics! That was a good reminder so here goes
My 2018 coach is number 1630. There are some pics on the website but oddly enough, the only exterior pic is of the storage bay. I will attempt to post 2 or 3 here as long as I don't exceed any size limitations.

Re: 1991 #277 8V92 - What type of coolant should be used in our older 8V92? It had green coolant in it when we bought it and I had that changed at a truck repair shop for fresh coolant, still green in color. Is the specified TMC RP-329 green in color? Or did the previous owner install the wrong kind of coolant? I understand the 8V92 has a wet sleeve area and is subject to cavitation corrision, so we need to ensure we have the correct coolant installed.
Thanks!
Danny
Thanks to all have expressed concern for Rhonda and me. We are safely parked at Tom Sawyer in Memphis. Right now I think looks like the eye may go directly over our house in Inverness . We will just have to wait and evaluate our next move after the storm passes.

Hello. My name is Sam Shroyer. From Muncie Indiana. Month ago I purchased this coach in Columbus IN. Drove her home . Once made it back the skeletons come.. just little overwhelming lol. Looking forward to making her ready for a small trip. But. The shiny 92 has water in the exhaust . Looks like its coming down from the turbo. And has a ground problem that shuts down generator ..Been cleaning all connections . Trying to make sense of the converter charger .

we are in sunny (at last) TEXAS helping. We departed KY Sunday afternoon and the trip
Took 3 days. Everywhere we turned we faced closed roads. The folks at MOT allowed
Us stay on their lot overnight ( good people)
Clean up is moving on, but at a slow pace
Many groups have made the trip to assist. Feeding this many volunteers is a big job
We went a a local pizza place to pick up lunch and people were carrying out 20-30
Pies at a time. Wait times were 60-70 minutes
The smell of molding furniture and carpet seeps though the air.
The biles of debris grows as you watch
Just hauling it away will be a huge undertaking
But Houston will rebuild

We returned from Newell today after some work and I noticed the engine running from 180° to 200° on the way home in 92°+ ambient
pulling our 2009 Dodge pickup. What concerned me was the transmission temps edging the 220° mark. The radiator sight glass is more than half full.
Is this about normal, or should I begin checking and worrying? We were running at 65 mph.
Thanks!

Hi all. I have been lurking on this forum and the Foretravel forum for several months now. The wife and I are just a few years from hopefully retirement and hoping to do some traveling. For my 60th birthday present to me we rented a 40 foot pusher, loaded the bikes in the trailer and headed from Michigan to Sturgis for 2 weeks. We have been in tents and trailers but as we thought the motor home is a great way to go. Now just making the finances work and then finding the right coach. I will try to soak up some more of your collective knowledge. Mike

Hello everyone,
This may be a long shot, but we're looking for a newer Newell, 2013 and up, where we would take over the payments. If a Newell owner is interested, please let's know.
