We returned from Newell today after some work and I noticed the engine running from 180° to 200° on the way home in 92°+ ambient
pulling our 2009 Dodge pickup. What concerned me was the transmission temps edging the 220° mark. The radiator sight glass is more than half full.

Is this about normal, or should I begin checking and worrying? We were running at 65 mph.

Thanks!

Hi all.  I have been lurking on this forum and the Foretravel forum for several months now. The wife and I are just a few years from hopefully retirement and hoping to do some traveling. For my 60th birthday present to me we rented a 40 foot pusher, loaded the bikes in the trailer and headed from Michigan to Sturgis for 2 weeks. We have been in tents and trailers but as we thought the motor home is a great way to go. Now just making the finances work and then finding the right coach. I will try to soak up some more of your collective knowledge. Mike

Hello everyone,

This may be a long shot, but we're looking for a newer Newell, 2013 and up, where we would take over the payments. If a Newell owner is interested, please let's know.

I picked up my 2018 Newell about 4 weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it!!!!  This is my first Newell, and also my first motor coach :Smile!

I'm learning all of the systems and doing pretty good but, I tried to fill one of the tires on the tag axle today using the air hose from the engine compartment.  There wasn't enough air pressure even though I had the engine running and I pumped the brakes to make sure the compressors were running.  I looked for a valve to turn on but couldn't find anything.

Can anyone shed some light on how to use this?

Thanks,

Gregory Miller

hi all,

my coach is a 2002 and has the tag and drive wheel brakes activated when the emergency air brake is applied.  bill johnson and i were talking and figure they did that from late 90's till 2004 sometime.

what it causes on mine is a lot of rear axle groaning, popping and when i leveling the coach i have to take the e brake on and off several times.  when i release the e brake the coach will lurch and change level.  in talking to newell, it is a known problem.

it is most annoying.  so my question is this.....is there any reason i couldnt disconnect the air e brake from the tag wheels and just have it on the drives like i believe alot of the coaches have done?

any thoughts?

tom

So my rocker switch went out last winter and i have replaced it many times since with i think cheap switches that just don't hold up.
First replacement worked then the light went out then another switch light popped right away then switch froze up. Currently just bought a new switch and light popped but switch works. I have gone through probably 10 switches since last winter. is now at the point that I am second guessing my wiring but I have pics of what I believe are the original.

Seems to me the switches made now are on the junkie side. Called parts at newell, there is a new person there now. He said he would have to look into it and have never called back, that was last week. i am attaching a picture, the switch in question is second in from the right with a white wire in front.

Any help is appreciated.

Brad
