Just checking to see what my options are for replacing several of the rivets on our 74 Classic. Many are missing and some are replaced with steel and rusting. I would like to stay original with the solid rivets. The original rivets look like they are hammer pressed, not possible with out removing the finished interior. Do pop rivets mean that those places have been replaced or repaired?
What have other classic owners done and how do you like it? I am looking at pure aluminum pop rivets unless you have other options for me. Would I need to silicone the hole of every rivet to keep water out?
I also have some gold ribbon (stampped aluminium that is gold, about 6" wide) that is cracking I would like to replace it at the same time. I'm going to call Newell and see if they have any extra stock. Any other outlets for this material. If you look at my pictures you can see it going all the way around the coach.
Thanks,
Roy...

I would like to get to the plumbing in the water bay behind the panel that houses all of the shut-offs for the various fixtures. That aluminum panel seems to be riveted to the frame work. Is there a way to access this area without drilling out all those rivets??

its party time in wittmann,
forest and cindy arrived last nite and larry and hedy arrived this afternoon.
i dont have the gravel down yet, but all the hookups are working....

Any Gurus at Bristol?

Saw this one in Montrose today. At first I thought it was Roadappels.
The back says Longview, Texas.
Anyone we know?

California health officials are investigating the second case of the plague in less than a month. Yosemite's Crane Flat Campground, closed for 4 days, was reopened last week after treating it with insecticide.
Tuolumne Meadows Campground is closed for this week for insecticide treatment after two squirrels died of the plague.
The plague has been confirmed in wild rodents in those two campgrounds.
The Health Department recommends hikers wear long pants and use bug repellent for fleas, avoid camping near rodent burrows and not feeding small rodents including squirrels.

My 3rd transfer switch in the last 18 months has just failed. I'm perplexed at why they keep failing.. Does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause of a repeated failure.?
newell has covered every one under the 1 year warranty for repairs but I'm wondering if I am doing something ..
