Well, it looks like coach 540 will have all new slide seals soon.
Went to flush the toilet yesterday and it barely hissed when I pulled the handle. Walked outside and I could hear the air hissing out of the bedroom slide seal. Doh.
So I'm trying to assess whether to have someone do the work or try to do it myself. We're at least a few hours away from anyone capable (read: that I trust) of doing it and even of those that I've called, their timelines are pretty far out.
So I'm wondering a couple things:
1. How hard is it to get the slide in? Does the whole bed have to come apart to get to the guts of the slide? I couldn't find the steps to bring the over-retract the slide anywhere. How long does it take?
2. Does anyone know someone in Southern California that has done this or they would trust doing it? I've tried Brian Miller but he is tied up for a few weeks out.
I know the actual seal installation itself is fairly easy, I watched them do the salon seal last year. It's the over-retraction of the slide that's the wildcard for me.
My screen door was hanging up as I opened it. Took a small block of beeswax I had and rubbed it on the bottom rail. Smooth opening now.
I had a problem with both the speedo & tach not working intermittently. The odometer would go blank & then come back as I drove. The tach would not work, then the next time I started the engine it would work. No rhyme or reason to when they would work.
When I was lubing the chassis I disconnected the three sensors on the left side of the transmission. I sprayed the connectors with a electric connection cleaner. Both the tach and speedo have worked since.
Hope this helps someone else.......................................
Has anyone tried running the dryer while driving ?
My main concern is the venting. Is the vented area on the last 6-8' of the drivers side coach in a pressure or vacuum zone ? In other words, will the dryer vent or retain the heat ?
HI. We are previous RVers and are working on getting back on the road. We previously owned Monaco, 2008 Camelot, 2007 Dynasty, 2009 Dynasty. We moved to The Villages FL, from Sarasota, FL. & 50 year residents. Sold the coach and have spent 7 years having fun in The Villages. But we are ready to travel again. We have been researching and really like the Newells. We are looking for something between 2005 - 2007. We would plan on purchasing by the end of the year and traveling about 6 months a year. Love this site, great information. Look forward to meeting every one after we find our coach.

This one is a bit of a head scratcher. Why would this fairly low-mileage coach (83k) have had to replaced an engine? Pictures are pretty scarce...anyone know what the story behind it is?

Interested in any info folks have on this topic, given Prevost monocoque construction, vs Newell semi monocoque
Have a Gaggenau Grill & cabinet that came out of our 99 that works and is in great shape.....free for the asking. We installed a Treager in its place and no longer need it.
Thanks
Steve
I’m new to the list & just shopping, (kicking tires), to see what’s out there.
