Not being a very good planner, I have embarked are trying to find tools to help. This post will let me showcase a new tool I found, RVTripWizard.com, and ask opinions of those more experienced in mountain passages. Hopefully, you can see some of the features of this tool from the pictures. It is only browser based and comes with a steep yearly subscription, but very helpful and even is integrated with RVparkReviews.com.

We are trying to plan a trip from Spearfish, SD to Pagosa Springs, CO. Since I have never driven in the mountains, I am trying to research best routes. Another good, free, and simple resource I found is flattestroute.com. I found 2 general routes coming from the north and posted in pictures below and attached.

Notice the bar below the map. This shows the elevation changes during the route as well as gradient (steepness). The top route has shorter 2-lane roads with a steep 7% grade, and the bottom route is longer on 2-lane road with milder gradient, but high altitudes. Any suggestions from someone with more experience about best route? I may not have a choice, because currently Hwy 160 is closed from fires, but maybe in 2 weeks they will have those under control.

I tracked location of mystery hose it originated from the V of my 83” VT903
Can see and read location from my other post “where does this hose go”
It started out a braided hose and changes to a 5/8 OD air hose and connects to an air canister between the two battery boxes underneath the coach
What is it and what is this for?
I’m going to install new but would really like to know what I’m replacing.

Hi everyone! I am thinking that there are not a lot of Newell Gurus in California. I would like to see how many out there would like to gather together somewhere in California. I would love to hear From anyone!

I was just curious if anyone has figured out where to purchase the replacement glass (not the bulb) for the low beam headlight assembly and eliminate the hassle of calling Newell?

After a day of travel, we lost our 12 volt lights, no light at all.  Both 12 volt water pumps are operational it just the lights.  All of our 120 volt lights and outlets are operational.
Backup camera is operational.
Steps are operational.
I have checked all fuses in the panel in the back of the coach.
Looked for fuses under the front glove box, none labeled to control the lights.
I have reset the inverter by turning the switch above the microwave to the off position for 30 seconds the back on.
The reset buttons on the inverter were not tripped.
I have 12 volts on the terminal strip to the fuse strip

Can someone point me where to look next.

As the next step in our coach education process, my wife and I are taking a road trip to Miami in about a week. It will be her first time in the presence of a Newell while I have the extensive experience of seeing all of one coach. So, from those who have been to the factory, is there anything that we should be sure to see/notice/stick in our pockets while visiting? :-D

After Miami, we're off to dealers with Newells and Prevosts to get first hand looks at some of the differences. I'm either going to be more focused or more confused after this trip, but I'm hoping it's the former...

Coach 337, a 1993 39 ft coach is back on the market. Several weeks ago I listed it but then removed the listing when potential buyers were put of by the uncertainty of the transmission's condition due to the trans temp gauge gradually rising toward unhealthy levels on a couple trips last year. I was sure I had solved the problem by replacing the temp gauge and sensor, but had not yet proven it on the road. I have now completed three trips with the coach and the trans temp gauge is behaving normally.

It is listed on RVTrader for $45,000 and includes 4 new tires and an oil change since the original listing.

I'll not leave y'all, I'll still hang out here and help when I can.

Has anyone been through the Pisgah, Appalachians, and Cherokee National forests on U.S. 26 going north in their Newell? Just need to know if it is relatively straight or winding, and safe to do or stressful? I have my doubts, but would like to hear from someone's first hand experience. Please let me know asap! Thanks!

I purchased a used 1996 38 foot Newell RV and trying to figure out how the AC works. I turned on the generator and the AC worked, but the two back of the air vents had not air coming out and didn't appear to be any air coming out in the bedroom.  I didn't have it plugged in, so the generator is probably all that makes it the AC work.  The engine running makes the front AC work, but I don't think it makes the larger unit work.  Can anyone explain how the AC works with the front, verses the middle and back?
