How many heaters do I have? Actually a good problem to have since know  I have  5 120 volt and 1 propane. There are  120 volt heaters in the bath area( toilet side)  Bedroom, Salon ( Dinette area), and between the driver and passenger, (console) an 1 more in the water bay. I have yet to find the thermostat for the water bay.It's got to be in there somewhere ! 

The one propane I am aware of is under the jackknife sofa. Previous owner of the coach Todd , had the sofa recovered  and all new ducting put in at that time. My question is are there more propane furnaces on board? I only see external vents for one. 

I have furnace envy with Clarke, as he has at least two propane furnaces .   Actually 1 is fine with me, if I ever require two, it would be time to move further south.

I am looking for a shop closer to my home in TN or at least the SE part of the country for servicing my coach and not having to head west.  I know there is a list on their site of suggested service centers but have found at least the ones in my state did not have that much knowledgeof them.  Really looking for a full service shop that knows these coaches!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello all, and thanks for accepting me onto this forum!  We currently own a pretty fantastic (if I don't say so myself, lol) 1989 Vogue Prima Vista. We're looking to move up to a dbl or triple slide Newell, 2000-2002 or so. Until we find just the right one, thanks in advance for all the info and insight that I will glean from this forum. Hello my name is Max I am looking at purchasing a1984 Newell 38 coach #31. I went and looked at it today. For its age it's in great shape. I would like any advice on what to watch out for or concerns I should have. The coach has the 92 Detroit silver and an Allison trans. My wife and I are going to be full timing and traveling the country we are excited to embark on this journey.

I have water  in several storage bays. This is the first the coach, 1984 ,  has seen real rain, other than a trip to LA  from Sioux Falls. Prior owner had indoor storage, so this may be a very old unknown problem. Battery compartments have 1/2 inch of water ,but some time in the past 1/2" x 3" slots were cut in the bottom for drainage. I had thought it was for added ventilation. One small storage compartment is even very moist in the top tray area.  All gaskets look good. Perhaps leakage in the hinge?  

After reading the posts about the SilverLeaf on this forum, I finally got the program.  I elected to get the 6 plug/ 4 wire without the adapter thinking I'd just hard wire it, but I found the coach diagnostic plug has 7 wires - any guess what the additional 3 do?

Looking for brand names of Diesel booster additives if anyone from the forum is using them in your  coachs. I have been researching differant products all claiming to dramatically increase fuel eonomy, ect. Any feed back is appreciated. Mike

We are having a succession of difficulties with dash heat and AC controls in our '89 (coach #197).

The problem began when we had the AC compressor) replaced and the AC condensor fans rehabed a couple of years ago. After that, we noticed that, even if the controls are set to off, either the AC condensor fans are running or the front heater pump under the coach is running whenever the ignition is turned on. I took it in to have that fixed this month, and the tech worked on the front controls, concluding that the pushbutton control (Delco 3610-501) might be defective. He did not have the part, and could not solve the problem.

 During the work, he disconnected the various spade connector wires running to the controls and attempted to substitute the control panel with a newer model that had a different array of spade connections. It didn't work, so he had to put the original push button control back in. When he was done, I don't think he was sure whether he reconnected them to the original spades. Since that attempt was made, we have lost all dash heat. The fans run for the heater and the defroster, but no heat comes. Weather conditions prevent us from determining whether the AC is really Working. I checked the lever valve (on the heater hose near the front pump under the passenger side of the coach) that permits coolant to go to the heater core, and the lever works and is connected to the cable coming from the dash controls. 

I am suspecting that the issue may be in the dash control. Does anyone have any ideas?

I could really use a diagram of which wires should be running to which spades on the rear of the controls. Thanks, Dick and Maura Quirk ([email protected])
