Hi Yall
I did a pile of more work to this 76 Newell, If anyone is looking for a really nice classic that's road ready here it is Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

1976 Newell coach for sale.
Newell was the first company to build the pusher motorhome. (Rear engine) Each one was custom built and only produce about two dozen units a year from 1967 and is still in production today with new coaches costing upwards of 2 million making these very rare!! This one has 90,000 original miles, the original engine and trans has been upgraded to a 325hp 6 CTA 8.3 12 valve cummins turbo diesel and MD3060 allison 6sp trans. These engine and trans combinations are one of the best and most reliable on the road. Extensive mechanical work has been done and is ready to hit the road. The body and interior are still mostly original and could use some tlc but still in great condition.
It has 6500 onan quiet gen, 2 roof airs original back up camera, convertible bunks in the rear.
Restored through basement storage with large water and sewer tanks. Air brakes and rear air ride. Newell bridge chassis construction.
Brand new solarcool bronze reflective glass and new weatherstripping.
This is a very cool vintage coach, I drove it 2300 miles from Missouri 2 years ago, it drives like a dream and gets lots of attention!! I have alot of pictures and info about this coach including the original build sheet from Newell coach in Miami OK
Asking 35,900.00
The Coach is located in Sexsmith Ab Canada. Can deliver anywhere

Anyone know where the bundle of unused wires in the s.s. box in passenger side engine compartment goes to? I assume and hope, somewhere near the dash area.
Thanks,  Jim

I have dealt with AquaHot units for a few years but this one sure seems to be different....

As I understand it, Newell had them built with an extra 4500W 220V electric element and a 110V heating element to take advantage of 30 amp shore power .
The beauty of the Aquahot is the hydronic heating AND continuous domestic hot water for shower, faucets, washer etc.
My question....
When it is summer and the AC's are on, what do you do to heat up the domestic water for shower using the electric elements while hooked up to 50 amp shore power ? Flip the electric heaters switch ON...right ? But that kills the AC's.....makes no sense....You can not have electric heating elements to heat up the water for shower unless you shut off the AC ????

Looks to me like the only option to get hot water and still have AC in the coach is the fire up the diesel burner....is that the way they built it ? Can that be right ?

Was doing my rounds at Tahoe Valley Campground yesterday when I spied this 1984 Newell. Eric, who owns this beauty, came by our site early evening to introduce himself and take a tour of our 1982 Newell. We'll visit his coach tomorrow.

We are in Amana, IA this week attending our first FMCA Rally. There must be 200 coaches here. I've seen 1 other Newell, a beautiful late model with Texas plates I think. The owner must be a Newell enthusiast. He has Newell logo stickers in the back windows of his Escalade toad..I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet.

Today the stinger lift was delivered and the first of the wall structure supports was finished. I decided to go with one continuous 2 inch square tube bent on a 3 inch radius for the wall and ceiling supports. One single piece should make for a more structurally sound frame than 2-3 pieces combined and bolted or riveted around the corners. It's more expensive but makes for a smooth transition from roof to wall.
