We are looking to buy a home here in Huntsville, AL and have found one we like. The problem for building a garage for the coach is that there is a slope where I would like to put the coach. I know we would have to grade up (moving lots of dirt in). In order to support the weight of the coach on a slab how much extra work it that going to take or is it the same as building up for a house slab? I am intending to pour a concrete slab... Any experience with this? Should we steer clear and find a flatter lot? We love this home but the coach has to be able to be part of it... I might add that the existing garage (next to where the slab will be) is raised about 6 foot at the rear for the slope...
Hi all,
Did some cleaning in the basement of the coach and got the VacuMaid cleaned and sorted out. Motor works, lid straightened, gasket good, closing clip replaced and keeps the door tight now......all I need is bags.
The model says P-10
Looked online and there are no vacuMaid P-10 model bags to be found.....really odd...I think the Dirt Devil cental vac bags with top port might work. I will give that a shot but what bags are you guys using in the central vac that fits that canister ?

Tying to sort out some things i don't understand about Newell yet....
On the dash we have a 3 position switch that is supposed to merge the 2 banks of batteries.
I verified that it does that when the switch is moved from center to the down position. Works.
What does this switch do when it is pushed in the up position though ? ......

my front slide in a heavy rain leaked water at the bottom of the inside window trim ring. i had sealed the window so after looking at the top of the outside of the slide, the adhesive that holds and seals the front of the slide to the top of the slide had cracked and water was getting in there and then running along the window frame on the inside.
the adhesive that is in ther was very hard and brittle and had and nuber of cracks in it.
i spent a few hours and got the adhesive out of the crack on the top. there is about a 3/16" gap between the two pieces of aluminum. and it was clear it had always been there as the hard adhesive was filling the gap.
i will clean it up good with 3m adhesive cleaner and then i am going to fill it with 3m 5200 marine adhesive/sealant. newell told me they use the sika black urethane window sealant, but that is wayyyy too nasty to use and i am goint to use the white 3m product to be more permanent.
if it works good on the top, then i will consider doing the sides as well. and then the rear slide.

the arms on our passenger seat were about to fall off. several years ago when i was at steve bares, we took the seat apart and put the metal brackets on one set of wood supports. ends up the front was totaly broken and pulled in about 4 inches.
so i took most of the upholstery off and with large clamps i pulled it in place and glued and screwed brackets and such to make it back to normal. then i put more wood brackets to hold the arms in place vertically. it is very strong now.
then i reupholstered it all back together this morning.
i am going to have the small table that is under the passenger picture window corian top cut down so it doesnt stick out so far and hit the back of the passenger seat. i found a corian guy who will do it in place for 100 bucks....

As many of you know I have been having generator issues. When the temperature of the genset box rose I would begin to lose voltage on line 2. If the outside temperature was hot the problem was exacerbated. I changed voltage regulators , and contact boxes. Several people were convinced it was the power head.
Well today while in 100 degree heat the breaker that protected the voltage regulator tripped and would not reset. So improvised with a 10 amp auto fuse.. All of the sudden no matter what temperature the box was I had full voltage. No one had ever heard of one of those breakers going bad but when the breaker got hot it was losing voltage and "flapping" causing the Voltage drop.
I was about to spend 3k on a power head when all it needed was a 20 cent new fuse.
Had the light since I bought it last week and bugged me....
The slides came in fine, the top pins locked but the light was still on....So on the hunt.
First off the Dextron fluid level was 2 quarts low and filled it to dipstick level with slides closed.
The i started looking around at alignment, hydraulic system, solenoids, wires......to finally get on top of the slides where the pin holes are.
I am ordering a new slideout awning from Zip-Dee and wanted to make sure all looks good on top...then what do I find ? A bunch of crap, dirt, seeds, junk filling the holes about one inch or so...the pins would not go in fully with all that junk in there.
Air hose, screwdriver to clean the hole good and scrape all the junk, both clean 10 min later.
Now looked at the bedroom slide top holes. Expected less because there was good awning on top of the bedroom slide..but....still a lot of junk in the holes.
Went inside, merged both batteries, started the engine, put the slides in one at the time....no more LEVEL warning light....go figure
Check them holes folks.....
I have a 1984 coach and need to add power steering fluid and need to locate the reservoir. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Wondering if the 2 SCS basement AC units we have in the 2000 Newell are heat pumps as well or just AC .....
If I move the switch from Cool to heat on the thermostats will the units function as heat pumps or the Heat position is for Aquahot heat exchangers ?

Ok so my question , on my 88 with a 8v92 , i guess im trying to figure out which transmission I have. I can feel it Shift 4 times while driving but at 65 mph I'm running 1800 RPMs does that sound right.
My next question is on the dash I have an override switch and I have no idea what it overrides can anybody help me. THANKS AARON
