A reporter with the Miami News Record sets down with Chuck Evans, Vice President of Newell.  Notable quotes:

Quote:“We're differentiated by customization,” Evans said. “They're totally customized, no one coach is like the others.”

“There are now 4,000 to 5,000 items on a bill of merchandise for one motor coach,” Evans said.

Evans credited Newell's success to the Blades' business savvy, the expertise and craftsmanship of the employees and the level of customization available.

Newell employs 165 and according to Evans, the manufacturer has a union partnership with a no lock out clause. The dedicated and skilled workers create one-of-a-kind coaches by hand one step at a time.

This afternoon I made what seems to be a daily run to Lowe's/Home Depot/Car Parts Store. I couldn't find a parking place at Home
Depot. The store was crowded, and some dude was elbowing me out out of the stainless screw section. I thought what the heck, why are all these people here,........in my way. Then it hit me, duh huh Homer, it's Saturday. As Tom says every day is Saturday. I now have no idea what day of the week it is.

It is.................fantastic.

Forum: Air Operated Systems and Leaks

Yesterday I started the engine to exercise the leveling and other systems. After 5 minutes the rear wouldn't come up all the way and I started to hear a rhythmic air spitting noise from the tag axle area. turned out it was the main air dryer. Not the filter, which is only a year old and in fine condition, it was the spring mechanisms inside sticking, so instead of cleaning it bought a new one at a truck parts place here and installed the whole new one. $401.01 out the door and 45 minutes of greasy filthy yckkkk....Have replaced almost my entire air system. Only a few fittings to go.lol.

Hi everyone!  We bought our Newell in July 2014 and have been enjoying and renovating it ever since.  Lots of frame rust (working on that) and many other issues many of which we've already taken care of.  It belonged to an acquaintance for the past 9 yrs and was used to go back and forth to auto races while towing the race car in a trailer.  Currently the 3 ft wide stripe of peeling black paint is being repainted (not flat black this time) and some broken windows are being replaced.  The race car driving acquaintance bought it from someone in Iowa I believe.  It has the name "Ridgerunner" on the front.  If anyone knows anything else about our Newell's history we would really like to hear from you.

Unusual 3 slide 40' Newell. Valid slides, Independent Front Suspension.  I hope the $495,000 price is an error since that seems higher than most 2003's listed lately.
