Forum: Suspension/Tires/Wheels

Last week we visited the factory and had a sway bar installed on the rear of the coach. Now are on a shake-down cruise at Brownsville, TX (River Bend RV Resort, where we own a lot). Have ordered Road King shocks and they should be delivered in about a week. Will get them installed and let everyone know what we think. We may be the first to put Road King Shocks on one of the older Newells. The boys at Newell said they've only put them on newer Newells with the ZF Rear Suspension. Lost 2 hub caps, most of the lug nut covers on the way down in the awful roads in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Dallas!

Hi all. Started full timing three months ago. Sold home and have been living in the newell since than. Left alberta canada on monday and just pulled in to vegas. The trip went well with no problems to speak of. We have #372 pulling a 2011 jeep. Canot believe we avg 7.25 mpg over the last 1400 miles. Wintering in parker az. Had some issues with the aqua in canada so will be getting that looked after when we get to parker. Tks for all that use this site, as there is alot of info here and alot of fellow newellers that can help out when needed. Mike and nancy hoffart alberta canada.

I have searched all over the internet and the forums to identify the controls on my Recaro air seat. The symbols may be apparent to someone, but not me.

I'm looking for some ideas for window coverings. Right now we have some 80's vintage shades that are looking tired and really tacky blinds on the door and over the kitchen sink. Next winter I will begin replacing all the shades when we have the seats and couches reupholstered.

Since our's is a 70's coach I'd like to be retro/modern (is that actually a look?) Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Bob

Hi group,

Since our Newell's are from such different generations I don't have much to contribute other than history. Here's the original drawings from Newell for our coach.

Enjoy,

Bob

The original 903 Cummins and 5 speed Allison are being replaced with an 8.3 inline 6 Cummins and a 6 speed Allison.

There has been some progress.

The engine and trans are out of the donor rv and out of my coach.
The rear end will get a gear change and the air bags replaced before the new power goes in.
I should have a couple of pictures to post soon.

Scott

With things being so quiet, I thought it time for another Poll on how and when you use your "Tag"......

I'm in need of a new door latch for my water heater door. Looks like the pic. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks.
