I have a Demco Aluminator Towbar that I am selling. I will be in Cottonwood, AZ next week, then around Mesa, then Yuma until mid-November. After that ????
I have had it for 3 years, bought new. It is in good condition and works properly. I just traded my Jeep Liberty for a Silverado Z71 and bought a Demco Excalibar for the heavier capacity.
Asking $250.00 + shipping but would rather not ship if we could meet.

I was having troubles with the check valves for my front air tanks sticking open and failing to hold pressure because of rust after a few weeks of installing new check valves.
I replaced the rear wet tank with a larger volume tank, replaced the pressure relief valve, the automatic water drain valve and added cable drains to the wet tank and the two front air tanks.
I had a problem finding a tank with the same circumference so
so that the tank could be mounted in the old clamping mechanism.
I finally got a tank on ebay and got it installed even though it was
somewhat longer. I did this in 10/12/10 but just now got around to entering the data in the forum.
Remember that the gauges for the air brake tanks should maintain pressure even when the main tank pressure drops. If the tanks do not maintain their pressure the check valve is full of rust and must be cleaned or replaced.
Attached is photo of new and old tank (they are the same circumference).

Gang,
For the second time since I have had the coach, the floor on my biggest slide has started sticking. The floor starts up, but then binds and stops coming up. I noticed that it made a large "pop" noise the last time that I brought slide in (floor was going down). So now...the slide works fine, but the slide floor never gets level with the rest of the floor.
When it happened last time, Newell replaced one of the slide bearings.
How does one think about the slide floor? Anything I should look for? Or just head north with my checkbook in hand?
Cheers,
Bill

I bought the new Andersen weight distribution/Anti sway hitch only for the Anti sway feature. It is performing very well.
The whole package only weighs 53 lbs. It is not your regular type WD/Anti sway set up. If interested you can check it out at..

It takes some thinking to understand how the thing works.

Recently there was a discussion on how expensive the HWH solenoid valves are. I saw this air manifold for sale with six RAP1940 solenoid valves. While the air manifold is for a non Newell coach, the solenoid valves are the same ones that are on my coach. The part is represented as new and at full price the solenoid valves would be $66.66 each.

Hope this helps someone in need.............................

While I was in Albuquerque, I discovered that my passenger side yard lights were not working. I opened them up today to find that the bulbs in both of the yard lights had exploded. As we are traveling with Don Bradner, he volunteered that he still had some strip LEDs left from redoing the porch light on his Blue Bird Wanderlodge. I removed the broken bulbs, then removed the screw holding the ground wire to the body. I cut the power wire as close as possible to the bulb holder then used pliers to bend the bracket that held the bulb holder in the light fixture back and forth until it broke free. We soldered new wire leads of the strip LEDs since it was the end of a 5 meter length of LEDs. Since the LEDs needed to be facing the lens and I wanted them to be as close as possible to the lens, we cut down a Coke carton to get two strips of cardboard to mount the LEDs on. We folded the LED strip back and forth to get 4 rows of LEDs inside the light fixture, removed the backing paper and stuck the LEDs to the cardboard. I then used a small (red) ring crimp end on the negative lead to secure it into the same hole as the original ground wire and used a blue crimp on connector to join the positive wire to the existing positive wire. Since the gaskets were shot, I applied clear silicone caulk into the chrome light fixture base where the gasket had been, inserted the cardboard with the LEDs on it into the lens and screwed the lens in place. Tomorrow, I will cut off any excess silicone that was pushed out by the lens. The result is a brighter, whiter light that provides more consistent illumination than the previous bulb did and use significantly let current without the heat. In the photo below, note the consistent line of illumination at the base of the coach from the two fixtures. This was certainly not the case with the original turn signal bulbs in these fixtures.

For any one looking for places to go in your Newell consider a Fall trip to the Ozark Mountains. The color this year has been spectacular. Best I've seen other than in Maine, Vermont & New Hampshire, but a lot closer for most. The Ozarks extend from s/w Missouri into the northwestern part of Arkansas. Nice thing about the Ozarks is the temperatures are normally in the 70s this time of year. Pictures really don't do it justice.
