These are the air brakes on the front of my 1999 Newell. I know Tom has the same brakes on his 2002. Bendix has become part of the Knorr-Bremse corporate family so you'll see references to Bendix in the service data as their product line has merged. This pdf covers an overview, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections & maintenance procedures.

Not sure how many years these numbers will cover. My coach has the Dana IFS that Newell started using around '97 or '98. Drive & Tag air springs probably cover several earlier years.

Front: Firestone W01-358-8087 = No Goodyear replacement

Drive: Firestone W01-358-9447 = Goodyear #1R11-066

Tag: Firestone W01-358-9378 = Goodyear #1R11-202

A Guru friend of mine inquired about how I was torquing lug nuts, so I'll share with those who are interested. I called Newell & they stated all lug nuts on my coach should be torqued to 450 foot pounds.

Good truck tire shops use a 5' long torque wrench that is hinged and "breaks" when the torque is reached. I feel this is the best. They cost $600+ http://www.alltiresupply.com/p-TM750-1.html

I have a Snap-On 4X multiplier that I use with a 1/2" drive torque wrench. The multiplier has a 10 to 20% loss, so I use 15% loss. 135 foot lbs on my torque wrench times 4 equals 540 foot pounds times .85 equals 459 foot pounds. The multiplier works best when working on a hard surface floor.

Others may use other tool or alternatives.

During my air bag adventure I was forwarded an email that was written by Tuga Gaidry--Guru member. He had had an air spring sprayed with oil and felt that it led to the air bag blowing out. Firestone advises cleaning their air spring bellows if they become contaminated:

Approved cleaning
media are soap and
water, methyl alcohol,
ethyl alcohol and
isopropyl alcohol.

If any of your air springs become contaminated cleaning them with the prescribed solution may save you from a future blow out.

The Heater in our Bedroom began making noise so I turned it off right away. After looking for a replacement I was forced to remember about the Recall on the Square D model TW1222 Series B Heaters. Looks like the Cadets had a Recall as well.
The Cadet replacement is model RMC151W and is a bit larger. The problem is that they want more clearance from the floor than the Square D had so not sure what I am going to do just yet.
The prices are all over the board from $255.00 at Lowes to $152.78 at wayfair.com.

Anyway just a "heads up reminder"!!!!! These older heaters have a potential problem so at least take another look and listen carefully! I pulled the one from the Tank Bay and was amazed at how much quieter it was.

This is one great price on a 2005 with only 28,000 miles. It is a handicap available coach which has a door lift that disappears when not in use. Down side is probably the twin adjustable beds, but it is a rear bath with the larger shower. Also has a steerable tag and I love the overall look and features of the 2005 models.

If any one is looking for an air impact wrench that can handle the Newell's lug nuts, here is one. The Aircat 1000-TH. I have an older model, that is similar to this one, and it is one powerful wrench for a fairly reasonable price. There are several different models in a line of powerful air impacts. I have used mine for a few years and it works great. I have not tried it on the coach's air supply, but the specs say it only needs 90psi to 120psi. User reviews are mostly very positive. If you use "Google" they are available at many different places. I posted Amazon so you could see the specs & reviews.
