I have now had this system on my coach for over 2 years and it has worked perfectly. It is "Newell" quality and nice & clean looking. I replace the AA batteries once a year. Can be unlocked from the inside by turning a knob or opened from the outside using the remote or a key. I had to get an extension kit($15) from the manufacturer due to the thickness of the Newell door. Comes with a lifetime finish warranty, 5 year mechanical warranty and 1 year electronic warranty. Comes in different finishes.

This is one I got from Jimmy Webb. I had a broken one when I bought my coach and broke one replacing a bulb. These are a perfect fit and your current outer ring fits right on so they will all look the same in your coach. They even come with a bulb installed.

For anyone with the 4 button Duo-Therm thermostats this is wonderful. This thermostat has been obsoleted by Duo-Therm and replaced with a 5 button thermostat. It gets expensive because the control boards in your a/c's have to be changed--I've got 4 air units! OUCH.

The normal problem with these thermostats is that the buttons quit functioning. This company will repair your unit for $90.00. The four button Duo-Therm 4 button thermostats were used from sometime in the early 90s into the mid 2000 when it was replaced with the new 5 button.

Found this source for rebuilt control boxes for our units for $434.00. They come with a 14 day return policy and a 1 year warranty. New ones run $832 from AquaHot. Cheaper through Roger--$775. Roger also sells used ones on occasion for around $350.00. I believe this covers all years & models of AquaHot units.

This is strictly a suggestion and I realize not all suggestions are good ones. My thought is that under the heading of "Parts Is Parts" it would be nice to have a section to post replacement parts for our Newells that the Gurus find. Some parts in our Newells become discontinued, others become obsolete & others become available cheaper. It would be a resource for others to see what others have found & used, along with their review.

Examples: There has been many discussions on the 110V air compressor. This would be the place some one could review the new one they used--either because of price or it was just quieter. Another area is lighting and others would have a place to post products they have successfully used. Many times you remember a thread talking about something you are now interested in, but can't find it.

No hurt feelings if I'm the only one who likes it!!!

Has anyone ever redone their waste (black tank) piping?
I have the old Thetford dump valves on mine. The gray water bypass valve, the one that isolates the black tank, is leaking internally. These have to be unscrewed and be split apart not like the Dupre valves with the removable top. I'd like to replace it with a different valve.
The main waste dump valve is also showing it's age so I'd like to replace that one also.
I won't do this until next winter when I have a week or so to work on it but would like to start getting ideas.
I guess the fittings are all glued and I won't be able to take them apart to put in new valves so I'll plan to just buy all new fittings & valves and rebuild a new system.
Any idea how to remove the pipe from the tank?

I have a Headhunter 110V water pump in my coach. It is working fine, but always looking for future replacement as it is 14 years old. The new Headhunter Mach 5 runs about $1,100+ and my pump does not qualify for their 1/2 price program. I found a pump that looks good to me and retails for $448.27. It is close on the dimensions and gpm. Just wanted the Gurus opinion of this pump.

This is a vicarious report of a Newell sighting southbound on I-15 near Corona, CA Friday around 2 pm Pacific Time.....my son, Tim, was northbound and saw a Newell that looked exactly like mine, only some guy with a white beard was driving it......he called me shortly thereafter to be sure I wasn't in town......I told him that must be Steve Ward (Prarieschooner), and sure enough it was! He confirmed he was on his way to Menifee.
