hi all,
when i saw a place online to make vinyl banners i thought it would be cool to have one to put in my garage (and to have at our rally this summer).
so i had this one made. 8 feet long x 2 1/2' wide. using the artwork from the forum header that michael put together for us.
i was excited like a little kid when it came today. it is laid out on the kitchen table in all its glory...ha.
darlene is on a cruise with a friend (i am not a big fan of cruises and i have to work anyway) so it can stay on the table till she gets home....
i know its goofy, but so am i....

Karl Blade has added a new Executive Vice President of Administration, Grant Kerman to back up Karl's duties and share the second in command duties with Pat Dwyer, VP of New and Pre-Owned Coach Sales.
Chuck Evans has been appointed the new Vice President of Manufacturing.
Scott Lawsen has resigned as Vice President of Operations to take a position as General Manager for a manufacturing facility in Kansas City.
The 2014 Newell Coach, at least those starting with #1466, will carry a new model designation of 2020p. This is the first model designation change since the 2006 models beginning around #779 when Newell began using the model designation of P2000i. Prior to that, the models were designated 2000i beginning during the 2005 model year. The i enhancements included the roof buttresses to hide the air conditioners and allow the flush placement of the Girard awnings. The P series added the new Porsche designed front end.
Per Newell, new features in the 2020p include:
Quote:• Bold new styling by Porsche Design includes refined
chrome headlight and chrome generator door trim. The
dramatic, cathedral-style taillights were inspired by the
iconic 1955-1956 Packard.
• Revised instrument panel and new glass dash improve the
visibility of all instrument readouts. Each driver can adjust
the display to suit his or her height, steering-wheel setting
and seat position.
• Bamboo and reconstituted leather flooring materials
can now be used with carpet, granite, or marble to create
dramatic accents. Indio Show Coach 1475 features a dark
bamboo floor with light granite inlays. An upcoming coach
will combine bamboo flooring with leather inlays.
• Apple iPads with special apps let you control most
systems from anywhere in the coach. This includes interior
and exterior lights, shades, and window awnings. It can also
include audio/video remote controls.
Someone on another forum, with SOB, experienced a catastrophic radiator fan failure, which took out his radiator. It was a rear radiator coach, and he had an awful time getting someone to work on it. Long story short, he eventually got things fixed and is now back on the road. After the fiberglass fan exploded he found out that he is not alone with that mishap. He replaced the fan with another that supposedly isn't fiberglass, but looks very much like what exploded.
We're looking at late 80's Classic WB coaches, and are wondering if this has happened to any of you, and what material the fans on Newells are made of.

I have a Sony, model #XR-C8200, in dash radio. Works fine but the display does not light. Display is in the detachable head. Any one have this radio? Anyone fixed this problem? I tried finding a service manual to no avail. Anyone have a service manual?
Thanks for any info........................
But, has anyone ever used a fabric type cover to protect their coach. Wonder if they actually provide protection against heat and rain.. I am currently looking at building a cover, BUT the cost of not wanting to use it is crazy. 20 x 60 $10,000.00 up. meeting code. However a fabric cover is OK

This is a coach owned by a race team owner who is liquidating his business which includes his 99 Newell. I know this coach well and it has been very well maintained and has many upgrades. If you have any interest pm me for more info. I owe this man a lot and hope to lead him to a buyer for this fine Newell.
This morning our school briefly huddled in the hallways because we were on the very edge of a tornado warning. About five minutes later we were back to normal activities.
This afternoon Steve and Suzy were under the tornado. No reports of any damage anywhere, but it looks like spring has sprung here in SW Missouri. Of course, snow is predicted for tomorrow.
FYI-A Growth Industry!!
http://www.outdoorfoundation.org/researc...ation.html has the 2012 Camping RV Research Report (plus some other good studies on this link) [I am looking/waiting for the 2013 report.]
Best to all,
Lynn & Jeff
Overview of Camping Participation
• Almost 43 million Americans went camping in 2011
for a total of 534.9 million days. Participation is up
from 39.9 million campers and 514.8 million days
in 2010.
• Almost all age brackets added participants, except
the adolescent group.
• Camping gained a net of 2.6 million participants
from 2010 to 2011, but it has a fairly high churn
rate at 16 percent.
• Reports from public and private campsites and the
Outdoor Industry Association illustrate a general
uptick in camping participation.
• The Mountain Region has the highest camping
participation rate.
• Seventy-seven percent of all campers are married or
living with a domestic partner.
• Eighty-four percent of campers participate in
multiple outdoor activities.
Profile of a Camping Trip
• Sixty-seven percent of participants camped the most
in public campgrounds.
• The average camper went on 4.97 camping trips.
• Participants traveled a mean of 190.6 miles away
from home to camp.
• Almost half of all American campers plan their trips
at least one month in advance.
• Seventy percent of all trips are taken with friends.
• Hiking is the most popular activity to participate in
while camping.
Buying Behavior
• More than half of camping participants are
employed. Twenty-nine percent are students.
• Battery lighting was the most popular purchase
during the past year and was especially popular
among older campers.
• Most camping purchases are planned at home
before taking a camping trip.
Hispanic Campers: A Focused Look
• At an average of 5.52 camping trips per year, the
average Hispanic participant goes camping more
than the average Caucasian participant.
• Hispanic campers are very family-oriented, using
the activity to connect with friends and family.
• Hispanics bought more camping equipment in the
last 12 months than non-Hispanics.
• Twenty-three percent of Hispanic campers ages 18
and over tried camping for the first time in 2011.
Future of Camping
• Campers are planning an average of 4.33
camping trips next year.
• Fathers are the most likely person to take someone
camping for the first time.
• The most cited reason for reducing the number of
camping trips are a lack of time due to work and
family commitments.

Some of you might remember my ordeal with a broken air bag in Baltimore last year and being rescued by a Race team owner who had his mechanics remove an air bag from his Newell and put it in mine. He is in the process of liquidating his business which includes his 99 Newell/2slides. I can assure you this is a very nice, well maintained Newell with many upgrades. If interested please pm me.
