Here's another one in Tom's hood. Looks like the original owner may have been a Florida Gators fan. Lots of 10-15 year old Newells currently for sale.

This April will be busy with the list of "to do's" we have on our coach as it comes out of storage. I can't believe that I am going to add to the list..but here goes. We bought two new captains chairs, recovered the couch in the same material and have purchased a booth dinette in place of the two free standing lounge type chairs and the flip up table that folds into the wall.

The reason we did this was for appearance (the cloth was hideous) as well as function since the dinette gives us one more sleeping bed as well. We only have lap belts in our captains chairs and I would feel much more comfortable to have belts in the couch as well as the dinette. We are militant about belts in the car so it just feels odd and insecure to not have everyone belted in. I am looking at replacement belts and securing them thru the floor as we reinstall things after we get our floor in. The jackknife couch is about 6'. There is e webbing connecting the back of it to the seat so I think one could simply make an opening in that and run the belts up. I coud probably get then 2-3 pair of belts on the couch. They can probably be hidden well then when not needed.

The dinette is a booth. It faces the couch and the section on the side facing the couch is made so that the seat cushion comes out to store things. So I think running one pair of belts there would work.

So guys I am looking for advice and suggestions from what I have told you.

I was reading over on Roger Berke's forum(he's a guru member). He was explaining how the AquaHot unit heats the water and the coach interior that I found interesting. The water is heated by sending the water through copper coils that wind through the coolant tank and then routed out to the faucets. In contrast the coach is heated by routing the heated coolant from the coolant tank through the heat exchangers and then blown into the coach using fans.

Hope this clears up any confusion......................

hi all,

at some point i will have an rv garage. i love the look of the epoxy garage floors with the colored chips in.

what i would like to know is how those type floors hold up to our 50,000 pound newells going in and out on them.

anyone have any experience with these floors and super heavy traffic on them like our coaches?

thanks

tom

Has any one anti-seized their generator exhaust slip joint? Newell suggests to do so annually. Only access I see is from the front of the coach and it is at the rear of the hush box. I'm curious what method others have used to perform the task as it appears a 6 ft arm would be helpful. Not sure what coach range this pertains to but I would guess 90s into 2000s.
I was able to complete the task by taping a toothbrush to a broom handle. It worked, but not sure this is the best way.

Always looking for a better way.................

For those of you who do your own maintenance I have been using an online source for all my filters for over 5 years. I have purchased all the filters for the engine, trans, hydraulics & air dryer. The best thing is that if you order over $100 they deliver FedEx free to your door. Take an old receipt & compare what you paid with what they charge--in my case the savings was about 40% to 60%. The web site is www.filterbarn.com. I have no interest in the company other than being a satisfied customer. If you find a place that sells cheaper please let me know.

Hope this saves you some money...........

This morning my fan that heats the rear of the coach made a screeching sound and stopped running. May need oiling or even replacement, but dose anyone know how to access this fan?
