as i was showing my 90 coach to a fellow site member on saturday i was telling him all the things i had done to the 90. i replaced all 4 electric element heaters. the one under the bed, in the bathroom, in the wet bay and the long narrow one under the couch along with putting in new thermostats.
what i found when i replaced them is that most of them had been overheated somehow and the elements inside were glowing red hot and were melted partially in spots.
when you install them you can pick what heating wattage they will put out by changing some internal wiring.
if you change one make sure you wire it up to consume the same wattage as the old one.
just keep an eye out on them.

I bought mine at Harbor Freight. It has a 3" screen that is detachable and a 3 foot wand. Invaluable tool for looking in places that you really can't get into. I use this to look under slideouts to make sure there is no trash from the factory that would mess up new flooring.

Not really a campground but I do have 5- 50 amps and one 30 amp hookup with lots of room at our place in Weatherford. I'm just west of Ft Worth and north of I-20 about 4 miles. Have a dump station, also.
I wasn't able to download the manual pdf for the electric steps that were used on Newells from the 90s to about 2003, because the file was too big. So here is the link to the web site that has info on parts and troubleshooting.
http://www.powergearus.com/products/steps

I would like to verify if I am using my dump valves correctly. There is an air valve on both sides of the coach that empties into the drain hose. In addition the is another valve which seems to be connected to the main tank. On my 2001 coach, this manual valve has been replaced with an air valve. I assume if I want grey and black water to mix into one tank for dumping, I leave this tank valve open. If I want to accumulate the black water in one tank, and grey in another, I should leave this valve closed. Is this correct and is it practical to accumulate the black water in one tank and save the grey water to flush out the sewer hose?

On all prior coaches I have owned, the turn signal arm automatically returns to neutral when the turn is completed. My 2001 Newell does not and I am forever forgetting to manually return it. Is something wrong with my signal arm or am I stuck with remembering to return it to the center?

I checked this morning and my slide bushings are worn out or missing, but I also noticed that the lock has been dragging across the metal top and has made an indentation of about an eighth of an inch. I do not have the magnet system. Is it best to get the bushings from HWH or Newell?

howdy, my 02 has digital gauges for the aquahot, outside temp, outside bay temp, genny oil pressure and genny coolant temp.
they are cyberdyne. i replaced the 3 gauges over the driver for the genny and outside temp. they have a lifetime warranty so cyberdyne sent me new ones for free.
here is some documentation for them.

This was a subject that I did not see addressed in another forum. I do this. BUT-I'm not here to solicit your coach, but rather with 40+ years of flooring experience- willing to help and guide you in your selection. Ernie

hi, i have an older in motion satellite dome. some point soon i will want to get satellite for our home and cabin and be able to use the receiver in the newell as well.
i see there are a few in motion domes that do HD with dish network, but i dont see anything compatible with direct tv. i have neither now so doesnt really matter.
mine would also need to be the low profile versions like i am sure most of you require as well.
so can you share your wisdom? we have a SD in motion dish on the 90 and to be honest only time we watched it in motion was to see if it worked in motion.
but maybe with the grandkids we would.
thoughts on which systems?
thanks
tom
