So, I’m sitting at breakfast in the local greasy spoon restaurant this morning, looking through the Michigan Auto & RV trader, and look what I see!

Have just spent 10 days in the Rockies above 7000 feet.
The 110v compressors ran excessively hard while there. I had to manually turn on the compressors and then turn them off to avoid an "excessive run" situation.
I know the compressors lose about 20% of their effectiveness above 5000 feet.
Does anyone have a better solution? I'm told by Newell that I can not adjust the "on" "off" PSI of the compressor.
Any suggestions? Am now in Kansas and all seems to be back to normal.

Angel My husband and I are starting to dream about leaving our comfortable lives and start a year adventure through the USA! We have a Newmar Kountry Star gas coach which is 95% satisfaction.  But we are dreaming of purchasing a well traveled Newell. Out of reach right now but dreaming is needed. It's awesome to see a Newell on the road! And now I am looking for them! Why not buy your last coach next! Just glad I was approved to be apart of such a small part of special creations in Motorcoachs. Very special!  Kind of like being a part of the 2% of the population of the world that have green eyes!! Ha ha! Tongue

I have developed a fuel leak that drips from a point about a foot inside the drivers side directly below the tank.  Anyone have any ideas on this? It started a while back but doesn't seem to be getting any worse. I was parked full time in Tyler Texas through the winter of 16/17 and temp dropped into the low 20's a couple of times.  On those occasions I heard a noise that sounded like someone hitting the tank with a rubber mallet, I assumed it was caused by cold contraction of the air since I didn't have but about half a tank of fuel.  Wondering if I might have popped a weld.

Beautiful coach in Amana Iowa. Too early in the morning to go nocking on the door but the window has a label in it.  Rett and Claire Porter

I've talked to the owner, he insists it IS a 1993; I thought the last of the classic bodystyle was 1989???

Hi all,

Looking for some advice for a friend with a 98 Vantare that has a SCS basement unit along with 2 separate CruisAirs with SMX controllers...never heard of this setup before...
Anyway....he is having an issue that I would like to help resolve with your collective help.

The basement air starts and runs fine for about 10 minutes and then it trips the breakers. What would cause that and when to start the investigation to address this problem ? He says that unit would put out cold air fine and sometimes run for 15-20 min then trip the breakers and sometimes as short as 10 min. Must be a amp surge somewhere inside......

Any thoughts ?

Hey got a question!  My rear Air conditioner will not shut off, unless I turn the breaker off!
Could the Thermostat be Bad?

Thx

All,
I have used the above external surge protector for a few years. I plug it into a power post and it provides me with volts and amps per each leg. It tells me if the post is safe to use. Last Thursday evening it was plugged into a power post at Newell and was working appropriately. We had the four roof airs running, Aqua Hot was on, the water pump and auxiliary water pump was on and the dish washer was running. At some point during the night the coach stop receiving power. The refrigerator switched to the inverter, but the breaker for the refrigerator then trip.
The readings from the Progressive Industries showed normal power at the post, but was not letting the electricity move to the coach. I found the breaker for the refrigerator and turned it back on. I started the generator and it showed normal operation. I then turned off the generator and waited a few minutes and plugged the 50 amp cord into the power poll. All of the electrical legs were working normally.
When we arrive at the storage unit I plugged the Progressive Industries into the 50 amp service and received a normal condition. I then plugged the 50 amp cord into the surge protector and now power went to the coach.  I unplugged the 50 amp cord from the surge protector and straight into the 50 amp outlet and power to the coach was provided.
Any thoughts on why the surge protector refused to allow power to the coach?
Why did the inverter breaker for the fridge trip?

Reese
