Hi All,
I'm considering the purchase of my first coach and on my short list is a pre-owned Newell that would be purchased from the factory and covered under the factory warranty.
My question is this: If a pre-owned coach is purchased from the factory and covered by warranty, how important is it to get an independent inspection?
If it's important, any recommendations on qualified inspectors and what's a fair price to pay?
Thanks!

First time I have seen this one advertised. 1994 with Detroit Series 60 engine, 120,000 miles, asking $70,000 including a Wells Cargo enclosed car hauler.

Hello Gurus, we are the proud owners of Newell Coach #581! We purchased the coach about six weeks ago from Motorhomes of Texas in Nacadoches, TX. There is a thread about this super clean, one owner 2001 bus with less than 60k miles in the coaches for sale forum.
This forum has been a godsend for a new used Newell coach owner like me. A simple example: I couldn't get the entry door keypad code changed even with help from Newell support, but the NewellGurus forum had a thread about the "breaker 17" reset trick that worked and let me enter a new entry code! That alone is worth the cost of admission!
Thanks again for such a great resource!
Today I saw what I believe is Doug Matz's old coach (at least I think that was his old coach)...a copper colored one headed westbound on Hwy 280 in Birmingham. It's a four lane road filled with miles of stop lights. I never expected to see a Newell here...but there she was. Pulling a white jeep I think.
Made my day to see a beautiful Newell in the wild.

Headed to Newell to get some little stuff done plus a new bladder around the front driver's side slide. 5:00pm traffic through Ft. Worth was brutal. Traffic had just cleared and we were finally able to put the pedal to the metal around the Texas Motor Speedway and WHAM, right front tire blew. My wife said..."what is that vibration?"...I said.. "Oh, it's just the road" but no sooner had I said that when the tire blew. I was in the center lane and I think the person in a small car right to my right had a heart attack. I was able to get to the outside lane and off the highway, thank God! Have called Massey Emergency Service. They have our tire and will come over in a couple of hours. This is the first blowout with Coach #638 and it handled very well, exciting but much better than the 1990. We had 3 front tire blowouts with our 1990 Newell and THAT was a thrill ride. My resolve to get the 635 tires has been reinforced. The Wheel seems to be all right and doesn't appear to have torn up any metal.
Hi all,
as many of you noticed, the forum site was hard down for several hours today. Our Hosting provider was having a DDOS attack at the datacenter that our server is at that shut down alot of sites that they host. they recovered quickly and all is well again.
sorry for the downtime.

Hi,
I'm Henry and I live in Palm Coast, FL (near Daytona Beach). My job here in SoCal will be ending this month and I hope to get a new job In Melbourne, FL (1+45 hr commute). I've been a fan of Newells for many years, and I'm a recovering Bus Nut (owned a pro converted PD-4106). My plan is to buy a Classic and keep it in Melbourne and live on it during the week and use it for trips when able.
I'm 58, so will any luck I'll get to retire soon and enjoy travel in my yet to be acquired Newell.
Here are a few links to the type of Newell I'm looking for (can afford).
1984 Classic
1984
1978 Classic New Motor
I think you get the idea.
I'd like to take the Newell to the National Parks, I hear the the 38' can pass for a 35' (not sure if that's true).
I look forward to participating in the Forum and would welcome and help and advice from the gurus.
Thanks,
Henry
We left WI Thursday night in the snow, pulled in for an overnight at a truck stop in South Bend (more snow/sleet) and arrived at Greenbelt Park, MD yesterday.
We're planning on exploring the DC area with the kids until Wednesday morning, then heading up to Gettysburg for a few days before heading home.
I'm having an issue with my 8.3 Cummins, if I keep it under about 15-16 psi boost, it is fine, go over and it will drop down to almost nothing, then rise / fall. Fine running down the road, but long hills kill me. EGT is fine, no smoke, fuel drops when the boost falls.
I suspect a hole in the waste gate actuator, I'm planning to plug the line to test.
Anyone have another likely suspect?
Thanks
Scott

Hey Gang,
Been away from the site since my Sister passed and while renovating our "Ponderosa" down on the Mexico border in Rio Rico, Arizona.
Sorry to have not been available or return e-mails, but sure you all did great without me...
Hedy has been staying in the coach on our lot 21 at MotorCoach CC in Indio since November and I am slaving away in the Arizona desert (and loving every minute).
We have made a reservation for Ruidoso and look forward to seeing all of you. I will cancel though if I find out that Tom is not bringing the "Root Beer Still" !!
We may be selling our coach after about 6 years of ownership and will look for everyone's opinions at the Rally.
We do have our lot 21 , complete with full size pool and spa and 700sf shade structure with indoor and outdoor kitchens FOR SALE now.....www.motorcoachcountryclub.com
I see I only missed 12 trillion new posts while away and it will take me until the Rally to catch up......
