I have a pair of Velvac 2010 mirrors that need a home. They are new. Anybody need these before I post them elsewhere?

This week darlene and i got a 40 ford 4 dr deluxe.   it has a new frame, power brakes, coil over suspension, power steering, chevy zz4 crate motor, vintage air and modern gauges.

it is really cool.  we wanted a 4 door so we could easily take other people with us.

i have wanted a hot rod for a long time and we finally decided to go ahead and do it.

i have a world class hot rod builder as a friend and he helped me vett the cars we looked at.

this one had been in the same family since 1981 and had the full deal restoration/updating about 8 or 9 years ago.

We had a broken mirror on a shallow storage cabinet door in the bed room. The cabinet is similar to a bathroom medicine chest. A case of Newell giving us every inch of storage they can. After removing the old mirror, underneath it is this. Could this be the illusive coach number? Or is it telling me I have at least that many doors and drawers in the coach? BTW, if you ever wondered how Newell got that great double edge bevel on the mirrors of the classic coaches, they actually used two mirrors, one on top of the other, the bottom being just 1/64th larger that the top one. Amazing craftsmanship. If you already knew this please forgive me, as every project is an adventure. I feel like Harrison Ford!

Before retiring at night, I flip the switch that locks the outside air door from the inside and a red light comes on next to the switch.  With this switch disengaged, the outside door numerical lock and door open button work correctly, but only for awhile.  If I lock the door from the outside and return within a few hours, it unlocks and works normally.  If I leave for a long time and return, the numerical lock does not work, the inside lock is actuated and the only way I can open the door is the use the air release valve in the bay next to the door.  Hopefully someone can lead me to a solution.

We picked up our coach 3 days ago, Thursday 10-12-2016, as being new to us! :-) We are in Grove, OK only 30 minutes south of Newell. Our first problem seems to be limited hot water. The aquahot is showing around 200 degrees, and I feel plenty of heat coming out of the aquahot and some pipes are warm, so I think it is working OK. I tested the galley sink turning off the cold valve, then hot water valve. They seem to be functioning properly with similar water flows on both hot and cold, but hot side only gets luke warm at best. I called the Newell hotline on Friday and did some troubleshooting with Dwight, and he seems to think the valve under the Webasko black box on the side of the aquahot is calcium-ed up, as I can't rotate the black knob and the aquahot side is warm whereas, the other is only luke warm. My understanding was this was a hot-cold mixing valve which maybe letting in too much cold water and not enough hot water. Dwight said the whole Webasko unit must be removed to get to the valve. Thus, I am heading to Newell tomorrow to see if they can work me in this week. Does this sound right? Any ideas on this issue?

The second issue is poor water pressure especially in the shower. The previous owner said it was never good, and I would like to increase it significantly. Do I need a larger pump or is there an adjustment?

Finally, I had the bright idea of connecting to city water which might get me higher water pressure and maybe could clear some calcium deposits if indeed that is the luke warm water issue. I developed a leak which showed itself at the base of the step up into the rear bath with wet carpeting. I could see water dripping when I looked between the rear 2 wheels. My guess was it is either the washing machine or rear shower, so I closed the valves on both and the leak stopped and I dried out the carpet. Any ideas on this one?

As a newbie your help is greatly appreciated  :-)

Thanks
Mike

Sometime on Friday morning, our server provider did some sort of maintenance that completely ruined our server.  We are currently in the process of moving everything back over to a new machine, so for a couple hours you may notice missing pictures.

If you see any glaring issues that weren't around before, please let me know here.

Thanks!

Hi everyone, My name is Chris Hartmann. My wife and I own a 1984 Newell. We have owned it for a year now. The interesting thing about our Newell is that it was owned by my father Jack Hartmann before he passed away nearly 11 years ago.  He sold it to a family friend Ray Fauber. Ray kept it tucked safely away in a climate controlled building.  After minor maintenance and 6 new tires we took her on a 2 week trip south. She never missed a beat. We couldn't be happier to be part of the Newell family.  We live in SW Missouri and can't wait for our next trip and  hope to meet some fellow owners
