While doing an oil change and replacing my muffler I noticed the condition of my oil pan which had pretty thick flakes of rust falling off. I am wondering if anyone has had to change out their oil pan because of excessive rust. Also if needed is there a place to get used pans?

Ps. I installed a fumoto valve last season which sure made changing the oil an easy task. Although it is best to warm the oil first.

After traveling 6500 miles and being worn out I am taken to my coach that my cousin was supposedly storing in a heated warehouse and find it in a barn that has no heat...we checked starter batteries and they were extremely low on water which I promptly brought to correct level with distilled water...put it on a slow charge charger overnight and am headed back to barn to see if she will crank...I checked the two agm house batteries and they have bulged  ( I suspect overcharged a few too many times and the one bad one hurt the other) My question or concerns are if it is 15 degrees for the last two weeks in this barn then will the fuel be affected? If the batteries are dead will my preheater work?  How should I heat up the engine if the preheater is not working? Then once we get started I sure hope she airs up...I may be asking how to get antifreeze into air system too as the coach has no air at the moment.... I have 9 days to get this coach to Oklahoma and then I will have a year to work on her...I guess the positive is I get to live and work onher

Hello Gurus,

When you send a PM (private message) to someone they can get notified several ways depending on how they have it set up in their account settings.

there are 3 settings you can have if you choose in your account settings (you get to it through your User CP (control panel).

you can set if you want to get PM's from other people

you can set if you want to be notified when you are on the forum that you have a new PM

you can set if you want to receive an email notifying you that you have a new PM.

if you have the email notification set up, the email comes from [email protected]

some of you when you get that email notification are REPLYING to the email (which comes from [email protected]) and instead of replying to the person sending you the PM, you reply back to all the newellgurus admins and super moderators.

so please click the link to go to newellgurus to get your pm and reply to the person via pm or to their personal email address.  the forum admin and super moderator team is getting a number of emails (pm's) from gurus instead of you sending it to the person you really want it to go to.  we will not send it on to the right party for you.

if you have any questions, ask here or send to [email protected] and email.

thanks

tom

Folks, If you are contemplating a flooring makeover, I can help:  product selection, colors, installation tips.
I'm not soliciting work, as I'm booked solid till next year. I can help you save some serious cash- unless you want to spend some really serious cash- and I'll clear my calendar.  Big Grin

Hi guys. Well, Gary is in Boston, MA and I am in the coach in OKC. Where, it is 18 degrees. He is in the middle of an important meeting and I'm sure he'll call when he's finished but I just thought I would post here.  The thermostat went out yesterday and Newell overnighted a new one which I am eagerly awaiting. I slept fully clothed, kept an eye on the bay temp, interior temp, had a portable electric heater going full blast all night, and thank you god, did not wake up frozen stiff!  Wink About an hour ago I heard a loud sorta bang/thud which I think came from the middle of the coach on the PS, probably from one of the bays.. Maybe it was just something falling over in one of the bays? So then nature calls and I realize there is no water in the toilet. I turned on the auxilary pump and had water from the kitchen faucet. (I had not checked before I turned on the aux but I think it was probably okay.) Then I went to the toilet and tried to flush it, as I said, nature called. No sound at all from the toilet. I pressed the lever and nothing. Perhaps a fuse?  And if so, where is it? And if it's outside, FORGET IT.

Thanks, Susie (slowly freezing in Oklahoma City).....why, oh why, did we leave Key West???

PS. I just turned off the aux pump and I still have water. Just nothing in the toilet.

Just thought I'd throw another post up here to see if any one with a bunk coach 2007 or later is interested in selling.

Let me know if you're out there!

My wife and I left WI this morning in a near blizzard.
Picked my coach this evening around 6.
The 8.3 cummins and 6 speed has much better acceleration than the 903.
Quieter, runs down the road nice.
No more smoky blue clouds when it's idling; very happy.

We are camped at the Quaw Paw casino in Miami.
We're going to stop in for a factory tour in the morning.
