Hi, I’m a new member of the Newell gurus, but I’m not new to rving. I am looking to purchase a tow bar to tow a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500. The Pick up truck is 4 wheel drive and is able to be towed 4 wheels down. We had a tow dolly and a different toad, but the dolly has been sold so we are transitioning to a different set up. Any recommendations ? I haven’t purchased the needed base plate so I am in the very beginning stages of this progress. Years ago I used a very inexpensive tow bar from Reese hitch which was all rigid and on the Jeep that we towed, but needed to folded up or removed and stored when not being used. I believe something more substantial will be needed for this vehicle. Suggestions welcome, and used equipment is welcome and will be considered. Thank you.
It took a small herd of cattle to make the interior of a Newell. What is the easiest way to maintain the leather? What products? I gave some thought to hiring it out when in Mexico next month. At the moment I'm using Weiman Leather Conditioning Wipes as they are easy when travelling.
my coach came with a echocharger to trickle charge the start batteries from the house batteries. it went bad years ago and i put in a amp-l-charge that has worked great. it has recently failed. they are out of business
has anyone used the
Victron Orion-tr smart DC_DC charger?
quite a bit pricier.

At Newell for service and asked if they could retrofit LED headlights into my 2008 coach. They said they had n3ver tried it but pulled the current Hella LEDs they use in the new coaches and went to work. Results are fantastic - the new high beam is smaller in diameter than the one they removed so they wrapped it with weatherstripping to keep water out.
I need to make a small weld inside the slide room around the area where the slide lock pins are located. I talked to Newell and they said I only need to disconnect the batteries. Should I also disconnect anything on the engine, transmission, etc?
Thanks for the advice!
Yesterday the StabilRide went into a Fault condition 516103 16 CDCAZ Body RR /High
I was in the Colorado mountains so lots of twisty turnies and ups & downs between Ridgway & Dolores. Stopped in Rico for a while & the Fault was gone when I started again.
Anyone have any information about StabilRide? I'd like to be prepared for the next time. Have not asked Newell yet.
My engine is pretty clean running and never see any smoke even when I am pushing it to its limits on hill climbs. It is pretty clean and oil drip free. Well, except the two breather tubes that run from the valve covers down the sides of the engine and are open to the road. Overall, on our last trip, oil vapors accumulate on the stainless corrugated interior and sit there. Until the AZ summer heat brings all the metals to a boil and the oil thins out. This my good friends, causes some half dollar size oil spots from the thinned oil finding daylight as it works its way down the spiraled interior of the tube. I can't stand leaks of any kind. I get it, it's a bus and they are made to be slobbering messes. I bought a 3 gallon hydraulic pump tank and modified it to work as a catch can. Main purpose is to contain any drips (I'll be dead by the time it collects 3 oz of oil) and not circulate the vapors back into the engine like the boat breather kits do. I cut a blank off plate where the pump would mount to, drilled holes to match the flange and welded in two air vents which are high up. The plate/vent assembly is siliconed sealed to the tank. I punched out two holes for the intake ports on the tank itself and welded in two 1.5" pipe stubs. The original hydraulic oil fill is now upside down and since it had a threaded bung, I reduced it with a fitting to accept a radiator drain and voila!, catch can a'la custom. There are two welded steel supports which secure the tank to the coach chassis via grade 8 hardware since I like shiny bolts
I know, I have an OCD complex, but I promise you guys, it is waning as age progresses. There's only so much I will continue to spend on this relic.
Last year we drove on a 3 week trip. I had the Bluefire going on a tablet but didn't know how to set the gauges or do any custom work. It worked for our needs as I only needed the temp gauge on the tablet to display. Yesterday I honed in on customizing the gauges and set it to work on auto day/night modes since the white screen was blaring at night. We didn't have it mounted anywhere and it laid flat on the console. It is now secured, programmed and ready to rock the roll when we leave next month.
I splurged on a Peplink modem with a roof antenna. I have T-mobile and Verizon SIM cards. I am pleased with how it is working so far. Install was straight forward for me since I had alot of the prewiring done. Most of my coach is already wired with Cat5 going to the TV's, tables and Victron. Cat5's go to a D-link in the upper cabinet and a LAN wire goes to the modem. So far so good. Modem operates completely wireless too. I activated T-mobile and have not activated Verizon until next week to overlap the subscription costs in case I need to suspend the Verizon or T-mobile I would still have service from the other.
looking to see if anyone might know the firestone or goodyear part number for this airbag. it goes on the front of coach 480 98 model
