In preparing to head back north to Iowa, I found I have no yellow light and zero action on my forward slide. Everything works fine with the bedroom slide. Where do I begin to look?
Tony
Is there any way to get both compressors running all the way down to the thermostat set point rather that having one compressor running for the last two degrees
Hello! Large family looking for a Class A, stumbled across Newell #285. It's a 1992 no slide 43 foot. We are not new to RVs, but new to Class A's. The seller has been extremely kind and forthcoming.
Q1. Does anyone know anything specific about this coach? Love to hear.
Q2. It's an 8V92 engine, anything we should know? We spend a lot of time in Mexico, if that matters.
Q3. Any reason we shouldn't buy an older Newell?
We are looking for a reliable well made unit that will last our family 10 years or so. We understand all units have their issues. Maintenance is no problem, but we also need to have a reasonable expectation that if we are doing routine maintenance we will not have a million issues.
Your collective wisdom is appreciated. Blessings, Julie

I thought I would post this. The Foretravel forum just posted this new DC mini split that runs directly off solar panels.
I thought I would let the experts comment on the possibility or if this may be a good option for someone.
Looks promising.
Some of mine are torn. I really do not want to try and get something from Amazon since most of their stuff is junk. That said, if anyone has a link to something they successfully used, I would appreciate it! (Even if it is Amazon)
I have this oval cutout on the right side plumbing bay. On the inside there are two clips that appear to have held something like a sight glass. Was there supposed to be such a thing? Can't find where it would have been tapped off the tank(s)
Getting a nice hissing air sound in the rear that I have not noticed before… please watch video to see
Apparently the 8 Way switch is no longer available from Knoedler. I shamelessly plagiarized this information from the Foreforums. That switch is a Kia Sedona Switch
Hello everyone, it has been a long time but have finally been getting this vintage newell coach # 480 back up and running. Had to wait for better weather to begin the air system repair. This is just a fyi post so no one else has to go thru this fun process, of course if you are a dyi person.
So our coach had the really crappy ridewell blue air ride leveling valves. Thanks to Richard ,late in the winter, he turned me on to Rob at Dayton Air systems where we purchased all new KOTR vales 2 for the rear 1 for the front.
part numbers as follows
k870005 for the passenger side and front
k870006 for the drivers side
The instructions also state r/h side for the k870005 ( which you would think would be the passenger side ) and for the k870006 states left hand side ( which you would think means driver side )
Well not true. So it is backwards. If you have outboard mounted leveling valves which most of older coaches have. It is the opposite on which valve goes on each side.
the l/s and r/s mean nothing to the coach on what side they go on for the conversion just which way the lever moves on the valve to air up the coach.
After talking to Rob yesterday, he stated he has heard this from a few Newell owners. I asked him to please add this in the instructions for newell owners. So I am just sharing this info so you dont get to do what I did. That is do it all again.
The KOTR leveling valves are awesome and make the coach air operated leveling system work so much easier with hardley any air. I recommend this change over to anyone who still has those lovely ridewell blue valves
And as always Thanks Richard for all the help on this air system.
I am trying to keep the three basement ac units going and each need attention. I am looking for another compressor, what is there is original to the unit and I am pretty sure Sanyo made it for Dometic. Duo-Therm part number 1318086 Sanyo # C-R100H2G/80608042. These are 115v R22 compressors, rating per Dometic 13,500 btu. Locked rotor amps 60, run amps 12.2. Odds of finding it under the Duo therm number is zero. The Sanyo number isn't coming up as a easy find either on web. I come close with some other manufactures old new stock on the web, but I'm not convinced yet on which to think is a good cross replacement. Maybe someone has already been through this and has a suggestion? Then if anyone has a lead on a replacement condenser coil, I can maybe fix them again and I bet everyone of these in service nationwide have the same rub spot and leak problem ( more on that in another thread) , but I think I read somewhere a cross over condenser coil from a John Deere cab tractor had exact same measurements and coil stack, but I can't find that lead again on the web. I have the equipment and R22, these units will freeze you out in Texas when working and worth keeping.
