596 is riding low on the left rear. I tried to adjust what I think is the ride height actuator. It is just inside the dual tire. I loosened the hose clamp and slid the rod down.
It really didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas? I think it is about 3/4" low. Thanks in advance for all the help.

We are finally within a year of retirement and getting more serious on gathering expenses related to ownership. we will be in the $300,000 range for a prospective coach and have been looking around at potential insurance coverage. I am getting online quotes that range between $6800 to $7900 annual. One was a Progressive quote, the other through National. i know there has to be more reasonable coverage out there...please advise!
Thank you,
Gary
The Acimone latch is an exact fit to the latches in 484

Does anyone know what this device is and its purpose? It is located on the backside of the rear panel. I am referring to the finned rectangle in the upper portion of the photo. The wire feeding it comes from the large (150 & 75 amp) 12V breakers on the rear panel.
Recommended pressure for shop air is 120 psi, my coach is a 2005.
When I park my coach at my shop/home I connect the shore power cord to a 50 amp receptacle and connect my shop’s air compressor to the coach with a air hose.
Connecting an external air source saves where and tear on the 120 volt onboard air compressors, mine has a dual 120 volt air compressor system.
In the right side engine bay compartment is the air connection that allows 120 psi “Shop Air” to be connected.

Benefits of Shop Air include:
Reduced run time on coach onboard air compressors.
Constant air pressure to systems and accessories such as airbags, leveling system, brakes, slide seals, toilets, entry and interior doors, and air horn.
The shop compressor regulator system manages the pressure. It is recommended that shop air be properly regulated, filtered, and preferably has a desiccant system to further reduce moisture from entering the air line.
(The external air source should be sufficient enough to provide 120 psi)
Please debunk or add to the information.

Forum: Discussion about what to consider on buying a used Newell
- Replies (13)
Hello all--I'm considering purchasing a 1995 Newell non-slide to use for full time living and traveling (30K+ miles per year). I've owned a Bluebird Wanderlodge, a non-slide Prevost XL, and an American Heritage 2 slide fiberglass coach, so I'm fairly familiar with most general systems. I've been full-timing for 7 years now. I'm not comfortable making a purchase without having an inspection done. The coach is in the Dallas area--was wondering if anyone here could recommend someone that could perform a THOROUGH inspection for me, and what an average cost of such inspection might be.
This is a link to the coach I'm considering--it's fairly detailed in both description and photos, and also seems very open about what currently needs attention. Considering the price, I would (in comparison to my Prevost and my Bluebird) expect that I could end up with a pretty good coach for an additional $20-30K in repairs/upgrades. Would also appreciate any comments that would confirm or contradict that expectation.
Newell Coach 394
Thanks in advance. . .

So I found my dream steering wheel. (Ok, not really a dream, but it is captivating, isn't it?!). It is an 18" trucker steering wheel that comes with a hub made for a 1974-1995 GMC truck column. My column has the telescopic hub with the little latch lever to make it go up and down about 2". I am thinking that would be lost if I use their hub. The wheel is just over $350 with shipping and tax. Pricey but I am limited on selection. Would this work? I believe I have that type of column. Also I have welded in a bracket that supports the lower portion of the column since it had some in and out flex. Column is tight, but the factory mounting gave it too much flex. It is clamped at the column to allow removal if need be. Solid and tight now. Should I safely order this wheel? It is returnable but hate to go through the process....
Replacing both motors on one of my SCS units and while in there was going to replace all of the capacitors. Anyone happen to have part numbers? Would love to have parts prior to tearing into vs. waiting until I get it apart.
I have a 1994 Newell and wonder what an estimated cost to change out my old air bags. Just an approximation per air bag would be great if anyone knows?
Thanks,
Jerry
