This is a tale, but true. I thought it might bring a smile to the married guys on the forum.
We were driving across New Mexico one year, and my cell phone rang. Rhonda answered for me, and it was some Newell owner I had never heard of, but he had my phone number. Ok, no problem, I think.
He is trying to describe an issue he is having with the leveling system on his coach, and frankly between me trying to drive and him providing a lot of information that is not relevant, I really don’t understand what he is describing. After some back and forth, I figure out he is using the autolevel feature, and seems to be saying the coach is not level after the control unit finishes.
Ok, I think. Next round of questions is to figure out if the problem is simply a calibration of the sensor or some deeper issue, so I ask “how do you know it’s not level?, are the yellow lights on?, are you using a level on the counter?, do you have a bubble level on your phone? How do you know it’s not level?” Those who know me recognize the “In God we trust, everybody else bring data” approach.
His answer, “My wife says it’s not level”.
Well then, it’s not level, let’s move on to why………………
I found this leak a few weeks ago - taking off the side where the air switches for controlling the 3 air bladders are (right hand side). The other switch is the raise/lower pneumatic switch just forward. Anyone work on these? Who might be able to provide the new 3 switch assembly?
It appears that Seat Specialists can get the Right Hand kit likely custom since the truckers seats are left hand. I'm picking up an inline ball valve to turn off the air line when we are not on the road...
I have some fuel leaking in my generator bay. Can I safely run the generator with the generator slide extended?
I hope to discover where the fuel leak is.
Found my coach's beautiful sister on FaceBook. A 1985 with a similar paint job. Asked the owner and he says the re-paint was done at the factory, which makes total sense. I'll have to call Newell and see if they have the paint codes for some touch-up that I need done.

This is a picture of my 1986 coach.
All three of my lumbar air bladders had ruptured. After many unsuccessful searches for the OEM ISRI part I remembered that I had a set of air wedges in my shop that I had purchased on Amazon a while ago. I was able to attach them with cable ties in a stacked manner in the original three positions. I’d did add some additional silicone vacuum tubing to allow the lines to “sweep” more back to the control valves to avoid kinking the lines. So far so good and they can handle much more pressure and abuse than the original air bladders. Safe travels friends…

I’m in search for a pre own 1999-2002 45’ double or triple sides, mid-entry, bath n half, 60 series engine Newell, In good condition.
Got the air filter out of 596 to replace it.Unfortunately he number is not on the filter. Went to napa , they said it was a 6893 napa , no longer available.
I looked online and found a Wx WA10116. Is this the right number? Don't want to order the wrong one. The one that is on the coach is a racor Brand
Thanks
David
I have two relays like the one in the picture. They appear to be in electrical heater circuits. Anyone know the purpose and what controls them? This one is overhead in the front of the coach.
Just wanting to ask if when in hot climate and mainly when climbing steep grades, my temp gauge will start rising up to 210 or more. I still have the original gauges which I have been told are not that accurate and have checked the temps at the engine with a thermal gun and it shows temps closer to 200 when hot. I don't know if the fan is kicking into high speed but replaced the solenoid a couple of years ago and when its disconnected the fan instantly goes to high speed. My question is, if I leave the solenoid disconnected while driving in these conditions, to keep temps down, will it cause any harm to the system.
Thanks
