My last unit was a Winnebago 42qd. My question today is, it had a power management system that would allow me to plug into a 120V 15 receptacle and power the basic necessities and charge batteries. Does a Newell have that option or does it have to be 120/240V 50 A?
Thanks
Hello. New to forums and new to Newell. Been fulltiming with our 3 boys in our montana fifth wheel but have realized in the last few months that we want to switch to a motorhome experience. Newells and prevost have caught our attention for obvious reasons. After a lot of research but still more to do we have landed on a 1995 newell. Its a beauty inside and out. I guess Im just hoping that anybody out there can either confirm or warn against this particular year as far as any manufacturing problems, delamination or other major things? We realize purchasing a quality coach comes with possible increased expenses just as buying a Porsche cost more to maintain than a toyota...and we are excited and ready for the challenge to repair the 'small' things ourselves and learn as much as we can on the way.
We have a 1997 Newell with a HWH living room slide-out. We have the floor that goes up and down as the slide goes in and out. It started to come up crooked on the dinette side where it ended up about an inch lower than it should be on the stationary side of the coach. See picture. We spoke to Newell and they feel it could be a worn out bushing located under the floor under the couch.
Has anyone had to find the bushing they may be talking about?
Thanks for the help!
I got all this information from Ray Johnson, former owner of Boomer.
Seems that the water line attachment fittings on the Headhunter pump are prone to cracking. Especially if someone gorillas them trying to stop a leak. Overtightening does not help, since it is an O ring that seals, not the threads.
But this is such a problem that Newell has had some machined from aluminum.
Contact Newell for more info. Just passing along as public service announcement.
And oh yeah, we have to get Ray back into a Newell. He fits right in with the rest of the merry band.

Looking for a 36' Coach, with a side radiator. ANY brand considered.
Ty.
Want to give a shout out to RV One Superstore in Charlotte.
I needed a place that was not 600 miles south (The Motorcoach Store) or west ( Miami,OK) to do mainly chassis and generator oil change and filters as well as find leaks. There were 8 other things on the list too and they took care of all of the items.
It was great to see two other Newells also entrusting their service to this facility.
We met the driver of one of the Newells and he said he has been coming their for a number of years.
When I came today to pick our coach up, we met Tim ( one of two Newell technicians) who shared he has many years experience working on many a Race car driver’s Newells and he came across as very knowledgeable.
We were also blessed by the service manager Craighton who very good care of us and our coach. He kept us regularly updated on the progress and other than waiting for and fitting two new front tires for a few days our coach was there only for 10 days.
So I posted this incase other Newell owners were hoping to find a service center in the eastern part of the country or maybe is traveling through NC and is in need of service and a place that instills peace of mind that they know and understand the Newell product.
Tech called this pm and said when he went to open DS salon slide, the PS salon slide opened. It was not turned on in the control panel. When he tried to retract it nothing happened. Any ideas? He was calling Newell to if they had an answer.
Thanks,
Chris
Leaning to one side just over night. Air bag or HCV?
My dishwasher was inop from when I bought it. The PO said he did not use it nor knew if it worked.
I found that the garbage disposal knockout was still in place so the dishwasher had not been used since the new disposal was installed. This was the same mistake I made the first time I replaced a garbage disposal in one of my houses.
I bought a Fisher Paykel Single Drawer Dishwasher DD24S19 N. I did not need a separate install kit.
Installation of the drawer cover was easy-peasy. Getting it square was my main concern. The installation instructions were well thought out for this. You find the center of the drawer using the corners and a straight edge. On the new bracket there is a small hole you put over the center mark previously mentioned, make sure it is parallel with the bottem, then drill and screw carefully.
The bracket in the picture is the old one. I cut the wires from the original on/off switch and left the switch in place.
The only issue is the new dishwasher is vented. The old one wasn't. The vent supplied with the dishwasher would not work in my cabinets. I went to a boat supply house and bought a through hull fixture and installed it at the bottom of my cabinets.
The last picture is the completed install.
It was easier than I expected.
Today a beautiful 2000 or newer coach passed by us as we were getting on I70, west bound at Odessa Mo. We are heading out west to Montana.
