Ever wonder what a Newell would look like without all the curves in the interior woodwork. Wonder no longer. Here it is. (Note: the half bath does sneak in some curves)

I'm looking at a 2005 with 80k on the clock and with several what might be big money pit repair jobs needed.
I have had a wonderful Monaco Exec for the last 12 years and it's time to move on before I have to hang up the keys.
Always wanted a Newell and have been looking for mid-entry, Murphy bed, galley on the street side at a price zI can afford.
The 2005 is in Florida and I spent an hour on her with the owner today.
Hydraulic fluid under the rear bumper
Slides chiming but not retracting ()when I arrived all four were out) Another slide had a "kink," according to the owner
Silver Leaf panel dead
Previous water leaks inside the bedroom at the front edge of the curbside seal. Owner said Newell Miami had "fixed it three times" but it still leaked. He was also unhappy with the Newell has treated his coach.
He's asking $220k.
Otherwise, the interior is subtle and the upholstery is in decent shape for its age. Newish tires, brand-new today chassis batteries and recent house batteries.
During the hour-long visit I did not hear the aux air compressor operate at all. The two pocket doors and the plug door worked briskly.
Comments anyone?

I've had Travel-Net searching for 4 new drive tires for me. They have discounts with GoodYear and Michelin. I would like to find some manufactured in 2020. So far the only set of 4 they found were 3.5 years old.
Anyone else in the market for tires having this problem? I know there are a couple of other brands, and my coach has Goodrich now... but coach-net only deals with two brands. Any ideas? I'm in Dallas.
Thanks,
Alan
I post these tour itineraries to help others identify Newell friendly campgrounds and hopefully if you are in the area at the same time you will look us up. Rhonda puts a lot of effort into spacing the campgrounds so that I don’t drive to far every drive day. We are National Park junkies, hikers, and bicyclists. You will find lots of that in the trip. If you are looking for shopping malls, opera, or crowds, you might not want to use the locations.
I do want to point out for those joining us in Spearfish, or just anyone in the South Dakota/Montana area that the Little Bighorn Monument is an absolute must experience location. It will provide a frank history of the American West that we weren’t taught in school. There is fantastic campground nearby that we discovered last year with amazing views of the sunset over the rolling hills. Check out 7th RanchRV in Garryowen MT if this interests you.

This is a problem I had last year on my coach. I want to record what happened here in case it will help anyone else.
My power steering started getting jerky a couple years ago. It finally got to a point where I had no power assist. And yes, it becomes a beast without power steering.
I can usually fix most things myself. I replaced the hydraulic pump, and spent quite a bit of time talking to mechanics at Newell. After replacing a few more items (including the new hydraulic pump) I finally threw in the towel decided to try to make it to Miami (from Dallas) and let the experts fix it.
It took Newell mechanics 5 man-days (1 guy for 3 days, and another for 2) to finally figure the problem out. (They removed and replaced almost everything two or three times, and even removed the steering gear).
The problem was in the hydraulic fan motor. Unfortunately it was not documented anywhere that there is something in the fan motor that controls the power steering. No one thought they were connected... and the fan appeared to be running properly. But in the end the fan was either restricting fluid going to the steering gear, or diverting it. The fan motor was changed and I was back on the road.
I was feeling rather dumb that I couldn't figure the problem out. The only redeeming thing I got out of the whole experience was the satisfaction that it took 5 days for professional mechanics to figure out the problem.
My engine is an S60.
The previous owner included a complete dining booth with the purchase of 567. I have no need for it and it must go. So, if you want it, come get it. I can ship but it would be expensive going as LTL freight.[attachment=8244]
Been helping a friend with air leaks. Using an ultrasonic leak detector we identified five air leaks outside, without going under the coach. We also identified one air leak inside. Four of the leaks were push in air fittings and one leaking plastic shut off valve. All leaks were stopped using dot compression air fittings and replacing the plastic shut off valve with a metal ball valve.
The place to start in getting your coach air leak free is to go through your coach and replace all push in air fittings with brass dot compression type fittings. The time to do this is before you are sitting in a vacation spot and your air compressor runs all the time.
Push in air fittings are great money saving devices for production, but will begin leaking not long after the coach is put in use. I have been asked why Newell and Prevost convertors use push in air fittings............................It saves a tremendous amount of production time now, but headaches for the coach owner down the road.
I have an air leak on my toilet. It is coming from the valve on the inside that connects to the handle. There is a brass cap on the end with a small hole in the middle. That is where the air is coming from. Any ideas what the fix for this is?
I was wondering if someone could address the significant changes and differences in the chassis construction, drivability, and certain features like IFS, etc as each model has evolved into the next. Although my budget will probably have me looking at a late 80s to early 90s model, I am quite sure others would be interested to know how things progressed through the decades. Obviously, things like propane disappeared and slide-outs became a norm, 8v92s were replaced with s60s and other engine offerings, but what where the things that made each model a "wow" improvement over the previous model designation?
