40'6" 2002 2 slide with mid entry Bode air operated entry door. 3 roof top AC's. 101,000 miles and 1,907 hours on the generator. Washer/dryer combo in rear closet. https://www.rvt.com/Newell-40-Double-Sli...9-UX345857

I have the Caterpillar C15 engine. I hear something that keeps running for about 10 minutes after I shutdown the engine. It sounds like an electric fuel pump or a fan with a bad bearing, sound is most pronounced at the rear passenger side corner near the engine air intake.  It varies in speed, speed oscillates up and down,and sometimes even shuts off for a few seconds before coming back on. Anybody have any idea what this might be?
Engine does not have to warm for this to occur. Yesterday I started the engine and pulled the coach out of my storage building, shut it down, and I had the noise. Engine was still cool to the touch.
If I throw the chassis battery switch to off it stops immediately.
I've spoke to both Newell and Cat and neither have any idea what it could be.
It doesn't seem normal. but everything seems to work OK, so I hate to throw money at it until I identify the problem.

Dear Fellow Newell Owners, we had a problem with the turn signal not blinking if the park and or headlights were on. In addition the turn signal indicator light would stay on if the park and headlights were on. In our 1991 #277 coach, the headlights and turn/parking lights were Ford truck units. The problem stems from the #1157 lamps not being fully inserted and twisted into place in the PLASTIC sockets! We all know what plastic does, especially after 20 years of service. The problem is easily solved by replacing the socket if the lamp can't be made to properly seat into the socket. A NAPA # 787131 3 wire socket is easily spliced into the wiring harness, and with a properly seated lamp, each function works well and independently!

Hello Gurus I have a question on long layups of coach. We won’t be using 469 for a while so just wondering what should we do to preserve systems? We are plugged in and have the batteries merged, all of the air is dumped from the suspension the coach is in covered storage. Are slide seal has a leak that we hope to fix it by spring, I did just buy some stucco tape for the slide but what else should I do? Thanks Joe 469

Last night our original Sharp Carousel sputtered, popped, and came to a halt.  Was not the coach breaker.  It is quite possible that the fuse in the unit has gone out, but I am going to punt and just get a new replacement.  I called Sharp and was told the replacement for the R-9H76 (& R-930BK) is the new 1585-BB for sale at Best Buy for $549.  If anyone in Guruland wants the old unit, let me know soon.  We are in Surprise AZ now.

After our last trip we took to WV a few weeks ago, this happened yesterday!  We were only getting hot water for maybe 30 seconds so enough of that.  Now for the challenge of this!


  Determined the mixing valve was bad and this is where we are now.  We are going to completely go through check, repair/replace things!

An acquaintance found this gem in someone's driveway in Dekalb IL (exact location unknown but will update when/if I find out)   I figured since he wasn't able to pull the trigger that someone on this site may be interested. He was able to gain access to the interior only for a short time and stated that it was "pristine" but was not able to take pics.  Owner states that "brakes are shot".  Looks all original with the original Ford 460.

I’m searching for my entry door override handle. I have looked in the basement storages over and over and cannot find it anywhere. Called Newell. The rep told me to check in the passenger side basement storage and try to find a red handle. Not there...
Mine is a 2004 #714. Does any of you fellow Gurus have any ideas? Or, perhaps mine didn’t come with one!

My Spartan Scientific unloader solenoid started leaking air a while ago.  Instead of fixing it, I simply removed it.  My air compressor starts up just fine, but I know that it would be better to have the unloader valve.

As I remember this part....Newell wants a small fortune for it.  So....has anyone figured out a way to utilize the 120V wires that are from the well switch to wire up an alternative unloader solenoid?
