Hello all, I am new to this forum! I will be going to buy my first coach and first Newell this coming week! I am flying down to look everything over and hopefully if everything checks out I will be driving it home. I was wondering if any of you had any tips that I should keep in mind when looking this coach over and driving it?? Everything looks like it is in good shape from the pictures and videos and talking to the previous owner. It has the Detroit 8V92, with I believe is the 5 speed, Allison. It is 40 foot with a tag axel. Anyway, anything I should look at or should change out if it hasn't been that any of you will know of would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know that I've seen autotransfomers discussed, here, but this issue just came up on a Prevost thread. I know y'all have discussed power grids at campgrounds and your surge protectors, so wanted to share that it appears that the NFPA guidelines are being modified to restrict the use of autotransformers. Jerry was a loyal and dedicated teammate at Newell Coach for over 32 years. In his tenure at Newell, he served as a painter, President of the local union, and finally Paint Supervisor. Many customers knew Jerry as the one responsible for our paint and body service shop, taking care of the bumps and bruises of our customer’s coaches, and turning out industry-leading paint designs for our new coaches. But more than that, Jerry was a loyal and true friend to many of us here at Newell Coach. His smile and laugh were contagious. He will be dearly missed.

Our hearts go out to his wife Jan, and his two sons Andrew and Nicholas.

As I was hooking up the toad this morning
Preparing to depart Minot, a couple stopped 
By, they are/were the owners of 751.
We had a brief conversation, they are trading
It for a new Tifton. Watch for it coming on the market.

We have found another Newell
That’s 3 so far on this trip

This one is at FMCA in Minot ND. No one around coach
 But I think it’s 751

Any recommendations on maintaining a charge on the toad battery? My toad requires that the ignition is turned to position two to keep the transfer case in neutral, creating a drain on the toad battery. From what I've been able to find in my research is that the toad battery will be dead in 10 to 12 hours. 

I would like a coach side solution that will insure that it will never fully drain the coach batteries.
