Hello Gurus,

On my coach #599 (2001) I have three roof-top air conditioners; units 1 & 2 I believe to be original (Duo-Therm 13.5k btu each, according to the literature I have) and unit 3 is different, maybe a Duo-Therm Penguin???  (I have no paperwork on that one).

Units 1 & 2 are both noisy and #2 has a serious vibration; I've read on here a bit about that issue being common with them, and I choose to replace them with new. 

Unit 3 works just fine; however, it's taller then the others, and this is an issue as it's the high point of the coach.  If I could lower it slightly that would be a cool (no pun intended) thing. 

All three of these units are controlled by a Comfort Control Center thermostat (fairly new, I replaced it last August) and it seems to work well. 

So my questions are as follows:

1)  given that I have the CCC thermostat, what choices do I have for different makes of AC units (I'm guessing only Duo-therm/Dometic?)
2) Low profile or not???  (it seems to make sense, at least on the rear #3 unit)
3) stay with 13.5btu?
4) might you recommend a particular model? (I do not need/want heat strips)

Hi, we have a 1989 Newell with three gas heaters, three electric heaters, and two engine heaters. Our problem is that two of the gas heaters are out, and they’re DOA. We’ve tried to fix them, but they are very tempermental, and we don’t trust to leave them on. We would like to stay with gas due to the amount of electricity the electric heaters pull while stored. Any suggestions on a replacement for the duo therm? Thanks in advance

I’m new to the site and currently looking to upgrade from our 45’ 06 Country Coach Intrigue. We have narrowed our search to two coaches, 07-10 Newell and 06-09 Prevost H or XL. My wife and I love our current coach but believe it’s time to move on. We have heard very mixed opinions about both brands and are seeking information from actual owners vs salespeople. If anyone can give guidance or comparisons please feel free to comment back. Your help will help guide us in our decision. Thanks,

a friend of mine is in Corpus Christi, he said this poor rig went thru Hurricane Harvey.

I am removing the Leece Neville alternator on the 86 with 8V92 . The alternator is mounted above the bell housing and drives off the blower . There are three bolts going through the alternator housing and spacer with cooling vents , threading into the drive housing. According to the Detroit manual the alternator should separate from the drive at the spacer . I have been unable to get it to budge there , however I can get about 3/8 inch movement between alt housing and spacer . There is white sealer between the spacer and drive housing , it's either stuck very well or I'm missing something here . I'm hoping someone out there can shed light on this or point me in the direction of a schematic . The manual that I downloaded doesn't have an illustration of the alternator mounting .

we have been traveling since 30 Dec. 

This trip we headed south on I65 to I20, stopped at Blue Beacon in Tuscaloosa for the works.
They did great, coach was standing tall. We stopped for the night at Gulfport MS. It was a small park
With a view of the gulf. Great oysters just down the street. Next day.....
We got a early start (for us) about 0900 and guess what??  It RAINED got our clean unit dirty.
Made it into Galveston that evening, had dinner at Millers....great shrimp!! Love the place.

We parked the coach at Delanara Park. Rudy came down and checked the aquahot (great guy). We Looked in on our condo, picked up a few things, visited with the grandkids and headed west on I10.
 Our next stop was San Antonio (good food). We spent 2 nights at Green Lake Park, its a nice place.

Next stop FT Stockton TX for the night, good stop. 


Got back on the road about mid morning, drove to El Paso, stopped at Blue Beacon
For a quick wash, then on to Las Cruces for the night.

Our next stop was Tucson at Rincon (great place). We spent the week touring Tucson,
Loved the Air Museum!!!

We are now at Desert Gold Brenda AZ, really like this place.

Thinking about moving down to Yuma... anyone know a good spot???

My Prosine 3.0 inverter/charger is showing a fault code of 195. The manual says it’s an internal issue and to check with Prosine. Everything I’ve read online says there is no support for this inverter and they are virtually nonrepairable. Is this true and correct? I am pretty good at replacing parts, but I am not an electrician by any means. Should I just bite the bullet and replace this ProCyte 3.0? If so, what brand would you recommend?
