I am looking for power sunshades for the windshield area. MCD is the only company I have found. I'm interested in what is installed in other coaches and whether you are satisfied with it.?

can there be damage done to a jake brake by applying it for long periods of time?  The reason I ask we took a day trip today with our jeep from where our campground is just north of the state of Washington on the Canadian side. One portion of the trip was a 12 mile 7 to 8% decline with three 10mph switchbacks in it. I myself have never taken our newell down that type of mountain. More than likely a slow 40 minute drop in a lower gear with jake applied steady. Help on that if I should so decide that trip.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to introduce myself, I'm Roy Dameron, I'm retired and currently have a 42 ft Nimbus 09 Foretravel. I'm about 100 miles east of Miami. I am very pleased with my Foretravel. This summer I got a chance to see in a 06 Newell. I was very impressed with the floor plan. We are now spending 6-7 months in our coach a year, and it works well. However, when you live in one you really learn what would be better.

My Foretravel has 3 slides ( my choice) but with our 80 lb Golden retriever and the little dog another slide would be nice. A half bath, stacked washer/ dryer, rear bath and a little larger kitchen counter are all things that would improve our motor homing experience. Naturally, the Newell had all these things. I have seen at least one former Foretravel owner on this forum; so I am interested in how the two compare. Does the Newell drive/ride better than my FT which has HWH Active Air? What do you former FT owners like about the Newells?
The newer IH 45 Foretravels have all these things, but I find the Newells floor plans more pleasing to my eyes. Also any thoughts on how the Newells drive/ride compared to the Prevost?

I appreciate any comments you have

Roy

701 has a side mount genset with a radiator that lays flat in an adjoining compartment. On top of the radiator sits a squirrel cage with an electric motor to turn it. Today the electric motor became extremely hot and quit rotating as fast and eventually quit all together. I replaced the motor my self in July of 2014. It quit in the spring of this year and Newell replaced it with another one. Does anyone have any ideas why I would go through 3 in just over a year?

We just got back to our home in Virginia after picking up 236 from Bill in Oklahoma. We picked her up last Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely 9 days on the road with her. Thank you Tom for all the upgrades you made while you owned her. Thank you Bill for staying close to your phone for the many question we have had so far. I want to also pre-emptively thank you for staying close to your phone for all the questions forthcoming. It was truly a pleasure to meet you and we thank you and are very happy with the purchase!

We look forward to seeing all you Newell Gurus on the road! We can only hope to one day obtain Guru status.

Gang,

Ever since I saw a new Newell with under coach lighting, I have wanted to do that to my coach.  I have not looked under the new coaches, so I don't know if they are strips or individual fixtures mounted around the coach.

The effect is amazing.  (Yes, I asked the factory and they said it would cost $8k!!!!!)

Has anyone done this?

Cheers,
bill

We are in a cooler area for the next month or two with the night temps going into the freezing numbers. Under the main fuse panel  at the front of the coach is a metal grate. My question is there is a huge amount of cold air coming up threw that grate. Is there something missing or can I put insulation over that area to cut back on the draft? Mike 95 newell #372

Our coach has: Bridgestone R293 11R24.5 on the drive / tag wheels (dated 2004!)
I am in a mad search for good tires!  Please help!
I called a few places around Davenport and found a GoodYear Truck place selling Dunlop and GoodYear.
- GOODYEAR - fuel max LHS $545 each H Rating
- DUNLOP SP348 - $356 All Position tire H Rating (Owned by GoodYear now)
Anyone used one of these?

What tire would you highly recommend?
