Hi All,
It's dark here and can't post photos until tomorrow, but this little 1/2 hp California Tools compressor is quieter, faster fill time, shorter run time and 4db quieter. Of course, the feet didn't line up , but drilled new holes in a mounting plate and had to pig tail the wires that were too short, but other than that in an hour I was pumping air for the first time in awhile. I will keep you posted if any problems in the future, but don't expect any. This compressor also weighs 5 lbs more than the Thomas making it vibrate less.Photos to follow
Last night we rebuild the mac valve and Bode Cylinder with the gasket kit from Newell. after adjusting the MAC valve (THANK YOU NEWELL GURU SITE) we discovered that the buttons on the outside didn't work, then after a couple of more try's neither would work, So we took off the black control panel by the kitchen sink and discovered a black wire on a white control box was loose. It was 1am when we quit and have no clue where it goes, we tried a couple of different places that seemed logical but it wasn't. HELP we need to leave Friday and I cant trigger the door. Does any one have or as made a schematic for the way newell wires the circuitry or send me a pic of where that lead goes. it is marked grd so I trying to find a ground spot.
Thanks in advance
Murray
Hi, Does anyone know what type of unit controls the dash ac? Ours is cracked on our 84' and we would like to replace it. Thanks.
My front heat exchanger heats up to temp then shuts down normally. After approx. 10 seconds it cuts in and out repeatedly until I manully turn it off, Checked with Roger and he felt the AH. is working properly but his direction was the thermostat itself. Any way of checking a thermostat or would it be a replacement item. Any direction to buying a replacement?? It has the cooling and heating switchs in this unit. Does it have to be special to work with the older A/C units ect. It is on my 95 Newell number 372. The second post on roger berke was to check the interior thermostat sensor? Is that the thermostat itself or is there a hidden sensor I have never seen before? Mike
Rate just went from 2200 to 3500 no tickets no accidents no claims..
Morning all:
I have a 2005 Newell that was plagued by air charge cooler that I came to find out in manufacturer in Europe and lead times for replacement are greater that 120 days. Since I used to endurance race SCCA and IMSA turbo cars I went and found a Texas based manufacturer who fabed a solid aluminum housing cooler of my design that I put in my coach when it was sitting at Newell for repair. The problem with the lateral installation on the side is the flex in the housing of the old style creating a torsional fatigue common to old style aircraft. If anyone is interested in a perment solution to the aircharge cooler let me know.

Is there much diff, from one to the other? I'm getting ready to replace mine.
My pastors daughter was in the hospital in Fayetteville ar. For the last week. The hospital had electric service so I drove the coach there and let them stay in it so they didn't have to rent a hotel room and could have a place to stay at the hospital. It has been in the teens and when I went to get it today the front would not air up. Ran the engine for 10 mins on fast idle still nothing.. Called Newell they suspected a frozen airline. They had me turn off the coach and the 110 compressor and then restart the engine and run it at 1500 rpms for a few minutes. It worked coach lifted up. Said I had a frozen airline and after the engine warmed up the air the compressor on the engine was getting was warm enough to melt the blockage
.. Just wanted to pass this on to anyone else who may run into the problem.
Steve B had told me about this and i thought sure it was on the forum some where but i couldnt find it.
i have had this discount card for about 2 years now and have used it alot. most of the time it is a 10% discount and sometimes much more.
easy to get. they even sent me a renewal card without me asking for it.
tom (thanks steve)

Over the past 1.5 days noticed the refrigerator (Dometic 2820) wasn't cooling correctly. Pretty certain it due the the coach being low in the front. The exhaust stack is warming @ the bottom (on electric) so I'm reasonably sure with the front low and the heat being applied to the rear of the coils the ammonia just isn't circulating correctly.
So, I'm going to fire up the coach and level. Do I need to wait a bit to turn the refrigerator back on to let the ammonia 'level' out or just level the coach and turn the refrigerator back on?
BTW, @ least w/20º the Excursion makes a fine refrigerator....
