Been out with friends most of the day and this afternoon when I got back to the park, in came a Newell and parked across from us. It was John and Linda Zimmerman from Canyon Lake, TX in a 91 they bought about 3 weeks ago. Said they had joined the Gurus. I am going to check on Vickie and Morris Weinstein tomorrow, but is my understanding they are here also. I think it takes at least 5 to have a mini rally, so feel free if close by to come and join the fun. Park serves $1.00 Margaritas on Fri. starting at 4:00. Chappell

Here's your chance!
And you'd be down the road from a couple of Newell Gurus!

Well I was still having an intermittent problem with the front heater not coming on every time. When I would touch the relay on the aquahot it would start. So after reading Steve Magown's post where he had a bad relay socket I looked at mine and it looked discolored so I went ahead and changed all 3. Easy to change out, just pull the release and they pop off the DIN rail. Then snap on the new sockets and wire it up.
But it still didn't work! So stuck my head back in the compartment, wiggled the relay and it started up. Finally figured out that one of the wires from the mini-relay 30amp (small black cube on the side near the terminal block) was loose. Pulled it off and tightened the connector. Now it works every time!

Been looking for a fan blade holder about six months. Talked to tech dept today and found out you can convert it to a four blade fan instead of five blades if its 2003 or earlier. Under the fan if it has 14 holes you can start a blade on the orange spot and skip a hole all the way around. This is for craft made fans. Works great

After having the exterior door handle break months ago, I locked the entry door deadbolt yesterday and the door locked but the key just kept on turning. Turns nicely in either direction several complete turns but doesn't unlock the door. Naturally, all the windows are locked. I think I can drill out the lock and use a screwdriver to rotate the bolt BUT I can't find a lock that matches. My coach uses a Schlage lock that is virtually flush with the exterior of the coach (there is a trim ring that sticks out about 1/16" and the lock face is flush with that). All of the new Schlage locks stick out well over an inch and would look like powdered poo on the coach.

Short of the easy fix of drilling it out then hoping that I can find some brand of lock that will fit into the existing opening and trim ring, I don't know of any solution other than paying someone to remove the windshield, let me crawl in and remove the lock from the inside with a screwdriver and reinstalling the windshield. I checked with Chuck at Newell and when they 'cleaned out' their low turnover parts several years ago, they got rid of the extras they had. They aren't even in their computer system any longer.

Any suggestions before I destroy something that may be irreplaceable? I night be able to find parts to fix the existing lock IF I could get it out without damaging it but I really am not keen on the windshield removal alternative.

Hello everyone, I'm a "newbie" and glad to be in the company of Newell lovers. I sold my 40' 89 about 4 years ago and now I've got a terrible itch for another Newell. On all the roads I've traveled in the last 4 years I always find myself looking for a Newell heading somewhere and wishing it was me.
I'm looking for a 96 to 99 and I've found a couple 96's I'm very interested in.
I've got a bit of footwork to do yet but am eager to get something in the works. I wish you all a great Thanksgiving!

Hi All,
One of the top roller bolts that is vulcanized into rubber in the housing broke off below the nut. I will have to buy the whole assembly if that bolt doesn't come out. It is the round door shower. Anyone have a parts source or any fix other than the part replacement which I'm sure is not cheap. I have to hold the door up and lock it in place so it wont fall.....
