I was over at MOT this afternoon and Mel told me they had a very nice 2000 with bath and a half coming in tonight. That is all I know right now. Chappell

Last week I noticed the Webasto diesel burner for the aquahot was continuing to run even after the switch was turned off.
A bit of troubleshooting and determined that the control box was bad.
I found prices from $775 down to $515 for a new one. $350 for a used one with a 7 day warranty. I contacted Russ White about possibly looking inside and changing any relays that were bad. Russ agreed it was worth it. Meanwhile I found this guy on ebay that rebuilds them. $420 with a $100 refund core charge when you return your old one. So for $320 with a 1 year warranty it is now working properly.

I have the complete cover panel off the water manifold to repair a larger leak and have since found 3 more smaller slow drip leaks. I get one fixed and here comes another. The first one was the 90 at the top of the cut offs, so I ordered some seals and a new 90 from Newell. There are at least 7 of these 90s which are not common stock at Lowes or plumbing supply houses. Got that repaired, then noticed a small drip at the Head Hunter water inlet connection. Took it off and it had a small crack in the plastic threaded connection. So ordered a new one along with a check valve. Installed that and thought I was finished. Then found a small drip at the 90 that goes to the water filter, took it off and used one of the spare seals Newell send me. I am hoping this will do it. I am now contacting Chuck at Newell to order some more of the parts. They are not expensive. These are leaks I probably would have never found or paid any attention to if I had not had the panel off. So if the floor of the water compartment has any signs of dampness you probably have a leak. Chappell

Mounted on the right wall, (within the wheel-well on the passengers side of my dual rear tires and next to the battery bay) is a tube like (approx. 20" x 5") devise. I have isolated a continuous grinding on /off noise coming from this devise… Any thoughts what this devise is used for and why the noise?

This is the push on seal for my bay doors. Most on my coach are worn out after 29 years. I spoke with Chuck at Newell and he said he did not have them but that they probably would have bought them from Austin Hardware. He said it was likely model number PL 7100 but I have searched their site and googled for this seal to no avail.
Do any of you have a suggestion of some sites I can search for this part? I will post a few pics in a moment.

On the maiden short trip with my better half, (very important), we took a 100 mile trip. We stopped for lunch and when we attempted to start the newly acquired 2000 #551, no luck. Just "click, click". After contemplating wreckers, taxis, or hitchhiking, I called the Newell number. After a while, Jim called me back and told me of the wonderful start switch near the batteries. Bingo!
Today I added water to the engine batteries, load checked them, (showed 12.3 V and moved to the green area on load), then checked the alternator by comparing battery voltage before and after starting, (12.3V then 13.5V).
Jim said he suspected problems with the solenoid and switches between the ignition and the starter. Not sure how this is done. Also, thinking of removing all connections, cleaning, and replacing.
Key to me is it starts right off when using the aft switch, but not always the ignition, especially after a road trip. Any help would be appreciated.
