On my 45' 2 slide I have Michelin xza2 315/80R22.5 LR-L and on the drive and tag axles BF Goodrich ST230 11R24.5 LR-H.
Not having had a chance to weight it yet what tire pressures should I run?
Thanks

Over the 13+ months we have been on the road I have only had to add air once, or twice when checking the coach tire pressures. Today I had to add 5 lbs psi to the right front....all the others were just where they were the last time I checked.....back in mid January. I've only had one tire fail, and that was right after we bought the coach....the cause was age. Some of you will recall the prior owner of my coach was sold tires off the rack that were 7+ years old according to the date codes, even though the bill of sale was less than a year old.
I know there are folks here that check air pressure every day they are on the road, and many have tire pressure monitors that give you continuous updates.
Okay, I probably should check the pressure more, but over the past 5 years I check the pressure less often, not more often. I probably check the oil level more often than tire pressure. I do check the temperature of each tire days we travel each time we stop at a Rest Area. I'm getting out to stretch my legs anyway, so this seems a good time to do this.....as long as I'm getting consistent temp readings on the tires I see no reason to check the air pressure too unless I'm getting a hot reading on a tire(s). I think checking the temperatures (and I check the trailer ones too) is a good middle ground to checking the pressure on 10 tires every day. Keep in mind that each day before we roll I do a visual inspection of the tires checking for obvious low pressure, damage, etc.
Now regarding the trailer, I have had to add air to individual tires every week, or so. When one of them is running hot in relation to the others I then check the pressure, and find it is a little low, so I add air on the spot using my bicycle floor pump.....it takes a while, but it is good upper body exercise, and handier than getting out the compressor.
I have three questions:
1) How often do you check your air pressure?
2) Have you still had tire failures in spite of regular air pressure checks, and tire monitoring systems?
3) Am I the only one who takes this laissez-faire (hands off) approach?

hi all,
i thought i would give the measurements of my 2002 for height.
my coach has the humped raised roof right behind the drivers seat.
at ride height, the 2002 newell is 12'3" to the top of the raised roof from the ground measured in the middle of the coach
the exhaust stack adds another 9" for a total height of 13' 0"
the current sat dome is 14" high riding on a 2" platform (12"+2")
the lower roof at the front of the coach is 11'8" high
the new dish is 10.5 inches high
eith the old dish is 12' 10" high new one is 13' 1.5" high
top of stack is 13' 0"
so with the new rfmogul direct tv dish, the overall height is 1 1/2" higher than before.

I think this is the cheapest steerable tag coach I have seen. Quad slide, bath & 1/2 floorplan, mid entry, raised roof with nice paint job. Detroit Diesel with 6 speed trans. Has HUGE 64" tv up front. King size bed that has raising feature. Originated as a racing coach. Owner says he has all service records. This might be one to look at! Located in Livonia, FL.

I have some oil, fuel, and air filters from my 12.5kw generator on my ex-93 and was wondering if they are the same filters on my '98 with the 20kw.
Anybody have the filter numbers for the 20kw?

I wanted to wish all of you great Newell owners and others a Happy St. Patricks Day Tomorrow! Don't forget to wear your green!
Great job around here Tom! Glad all is well.
Cheers!!!
OK, my first question for my '98.
Right now the 2 slides are out and the awnings are open. What is the sequence to close the slides and awnings?
I'm thinking to let the awning retract then close the slide then lock the awning arms.
Is that the proper sequence?
I talked to Tommy at Newell and he told me the slide sequence is to be at road height (not leveled) then turn the key and wait until the amber light comes on before activating the slide in or out. And make sure the awning arm locks are undone.

hi,
i bought one of these this week. it is a really slick tool.
any guesses as to what it is for?

We are in a campground and need to use both Air Conditioning Units. I am considering a "Cheater Box". Curious if anyone has had experiences and could give advice.
PS This would get either another 30 Amp Service or 15- 20 Amp and a 30 Amp to get at least close to the 50 Amp.
