Howdy friends,
We are approaching Christmas, New Years, at the end of Hanukkah and such. I love the holidays. Our son Scott, who helped to set up our Gurus Forum is home for a few weeks and it is great to see him. we are proud of his service as an officer in the USAF.
We will have all the kids and grandkids and son-in-law here for christmas day and it will be great.
So many of you are or have become great personal friends of darlene and i that we we feel it a great priviledge to have gotten to know you. for those of you that we don't know yet, we look forward to it and will send you our contact info if you want them.
we love to talk about coaches, family and just about anything.
After living in Israel 2 years ago for 3 months, we got an incredible and emotionally moving feel for christmas and for our dear jewish friends and their beliefs and traditions. We will never forget spending one of the nights of Hanukkah at the Western Wall in Jerusalem with the Rabbi of the Western wall leading the prayers and dancing. It was awesome. We spent that Christmas eve in a kibbutz hotel in Galilee on the sea of Galilee with our two youngest kids, scott and heather and huddled around a 6" high USB (from my laptop) powered christmas tree having darlenes cinamon rolls and going to christmas day church services at a chapel overlooking the sea of galilee the next morning.
we love christmas, what it means to our family and friends and for our faith.
this is a real departure from what i normally post but wanted to share my thoughts of christmas with you and hope that each of you enjoy this time no matter where you are, what circumstances you are in and whatever faith you embrace.
merry christmas,
Tom (and Darlene too)
I had to replace a 6" section of my aquahot exhaust under my coach. It rusted out.
I sawzsalled ( sure thats a word) the bad section, got new pipe from muffler shop about 12"-16" used high temp silicone and 4 muffler clamps. All in All about a 30 min. fix.
My question is- do I need to rewrap new pipe section and with what?
It is a much heavier gage than before.
Looks great as is.....
Currently working on my own Outdoor Resort lot in my backyard.
Connies newest song. She wrote all including the horn parts. This is a famous horn player from new orleans. He is that good.

Coach #1288, a 2009 Quad slide, is listed on Ebay with a starting bid of $805,000. Nice coach. Listed as private owner, Orlando, FL. Interested thing is that this coach was listed by Newell in November of last year at $1.125 M. Then reduced to $925k as a Must Sell in August of this year. It was shown as sold on Newell's site in September of 2012. Now it is on Ebay. Weird!

Trying eBay one more time. Priced to sell .
I know there has been talk about this valve but cannot find any post.
Would like to know what size thread is the drain plug so I can order a Fumoto Valve.
Thanks
Brad
From what I've seen, it looked like a Newell is probably out of my price range. Then I saw this: http://boise.craigslist.org/rvs/3441702580.html and started wondering. That got more questions coming to the surface, so I guess it is time to ask the experts.
1. The grill under the navigator's seat looks like it might be for a generator. True? There is a similar one under the driver's seat. Why?
2. Or, might this coach have cruiseaire units? I didn't see any rooftop a/c units. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
3. How does a Newell like this compare to a Wanderlodge of similar age and size? Looks like the Newell has somewhat larger tanks and has the same engine. Would weights be similar, too? I realize that there are only so many ways one can arrange the interior of a box. I'm not asking about that, but about the stuff that really matters: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, construction, etc.
4. The ad says that it has "Air Suspension and Leveling." Does that mean it is like the Foretravels, which don't have leveling jacks, but instead use the airbags to level the coach? Or does it mean that it is like the 'Birds, using leveling jacks, but that the jacks are air-operated?

I saw this on WOG http://boise.craigslist.org/rvs/3441702580.html and wondered about the price. That price seems a bit low, but certainly in our price range. We like the mid-entry. There is a lot of information that is missing, but then since it is a repo by the CU I suspect that they don't have any idea of what they actually have. They just want their money and parking spaces back.
Anyone know anything about this coach?
Preparing for the winter again. My old standby self made hose died... so bought one of the new Pirt H50 heated hoses. Tried it out last night still have water this am.. So hopefully good to go for the winter.. I know that most of you head for the warm places, so no need, but anyone have experiance with this hose?

I was looking at a 2013 Newell that is for sale. The pictures of the awnings show an awning I have never seen. It appears they are Girard awnings that come out to cover the slides and then drop down at an angle for shade. Never seen these before. Looks like a great idea. Went to Girard web site, but didn't see them. Any one seen these?
