This is the first Guru contest. Maybe Tom can award the winner some extra stars! If not, you will have the satisfaction of winning.

Below is a picture of the mystery item. Yes, it is cracked, otherwise I would not have gone to the trouble. It came originally on my '99. What is it?

As cold weather approaches, a friendly reminder that AquaHot recommends an annual service to ensure many hot showers and hot coaches. The service is an easy job for a DIYer with basic tools & knowledge. The instructions are in the link below.

Been watching my Filterminder and it was at 20. At 25 it calls for a filter change. I've always changed my air filters at 30,000 miles as these diesels kick up a lot of dust. I have also heard of some air filters degrading and breaking up & parts going through the turbo. I was anxious to do an autopsy on my air filter after 30,000 miles. The inlet side of the filter was very dirty. The outlet side was clean. Using a light I could see no light through the filter. I saw no degrading of the paper element which was a positive. It is my opinion that 30,000 miles is about right for changing the air filter.

Hi all,

Darlene and I and the grandkids went to see Chester's 2001 and spend some time with him and Jan. Besides being really neat folks and extremely welcoming to us, their coach is absolutely stunning. It is very very beautiful and clean. They are visiting here from Mexico where they live. Jan has family here in the Phoenix area and they come often to see them.

We spent almost 3 hours with them including lunch at a local restaurant (thanks chester!)

we went through all his bays and talked newell for a long time and then went inside and visited.

Will see Chester tomorrow for a little while and visit again.

Thanks Chester and Jan!

Tom

Hi,

Most of us have wanted or needed the air solenoids on the leveling system. they are a HWH RAP 1940 part number.

newell does sell them. have any of you found a source for them besides newell?

thanks

hi all,

i know many of you are ipad fans and that is just fine. i am an android kinda guy. i bought the new google nexus 7 8gb tablet and love it. in fact, we just bought another one for darlene. last nite scott helped me hack it so it allows me to use a usb memory device or any other usb device. you ask why did i get the 8gb version. reason is simple. i am cheap. i use it for mainly cruising the web and for reading and playing a game or two when bored.

as for movies, i can have a couple on there if i choose or stream from a usb device.

yea i wish it had a sdcard slot, but it is not a huge deal.

it was 200 bucks and the screen is great. it is a 7" screen, so smaller than the ipads.

i use it much more than i thought i would.

if you ever stop by my house, ask to play with it.

it is awesome.

Just picked up a 2004 truck, ordered the baseplates, now what is the best way to set up lights?
On my jeep I added a bulb in the light housing and ran wires through the frame, that worked pretty good.
Magnetic lights?
Something like these glued on the bumper? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-LED-15-Slimlin...519ff5b676

Later on I'll probably carry a RZR in the back with the tailgate down so need to keep that in mind when I add lights.

Evening Guys,
Just found the site from the wanderlodge forum posted by a guy named stick and registered so I thought I's say hello. We have a Newmar Essex 4502 and live very peacefully at our farm in up State New York with our Persian cat Dougal. Unfortunately, I still have to work for a living but the sooner I retire we're off on our full time travels. Right now we are searching for a replacement motor home and set on either wanderlodge or newell so hopefully you won't mind answering some of my questions.

All the best,

Bob Mettcalf
