My steering pump had been leaking over the years where the pump meets the engine at the rear. After our last trip, it left a mess of oil trails down the side of the transmission. Today I got around to pulling the pump, cleaning the mating areas and installing a new gasket. I also put in new grade 8 hardware. I have a bit of cleaning to do still to make that area look good again. While at it, I removed the exhaust manifolds since they both had ruptured gaskets from corrosion. New gaskets arrived but I sent out the manifolds and pipes to a shop to have ceramic heat abating coating put on. New manifold studs are on order and I had to drain coolant since some of the studs entered the coolant galley in the head. My pit is a mess. Thankful I epoxy coated it for easier cleanup. The dash air never worked from 2004 as documented so I removed the obsolete R12 compressor. Not sure if I am going to cut and pull the rubber lines (Past report findings suggested a leak from hoses that could never be found) My plans are to install one of those standalone electric a/c compressors that Mercedes and other EV carmakers use. I am sure prices of those will be at normal paces. If anyone wants the compressor it's yours free. Tomorrow I will work on removing the right side manifold studs. One skinned knuckle is enough for a day. Of course engine detail and paint will follow once I get to a certain point. I had stopped by Leo's shop but it seems he is very busy these days. I also feel he is in a more "Retirement" mode so I figured this engine will be all on me from now on. We will be losing a great mind soon. I do not know of anyone in Phoenix willing to work on this engine. Quite frankly, it makes me nervous. On the cylinder head, there are yellow markings that look like an alien wrote them. If anyone has any idea what they mean let me know.
And finally, Marie and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Windshield wipers are they a Newell specific item. I have che ked all my local parts houses to no avail. If anyone can direct me where to purchase they are 24s.
Thanks, James

Good afternoon
We are the proud owners of coach #495. When we purchased our coach it did not come with the cup holder console that can go between the driver and passenger seats. We are heading to Florida in a week and were wondering if anyone knows of one for sale. Thanking you in advance and wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
Where does the Silverleaf get its signal to show House Power? House power is good, everything 12 Volts works, it just is not showing on the Silverleaf display. I assume it is one of those Silverleaf boxes with a phone type data cord that needs reseated. I have turned the battery switch off & on, no joy.
Hi my name is zack I bought a Newell camper looks to be in the 70’s I would guess the owner had to get a new title for it but the title company can’t find it without the vin # me and the last owner can not find it anywhere? What would be a good place to look? I’m not sure what year it is ether any help is appreciated. I know it’s not much to go on but not sure what to do here.
Slide pin on PS bedroom slide is spraying hyd oil onto slide top when any of the slides are activated. It eventually stops after setting for a while. I assume once the pump stops running and pressure equalizes in the system is why it stops.. It looks like there are two allen-head bolts..one on each side of the pin block. i would like to check the tightness but am having trouble getting the valance off to get to them...any suggestions? Also, if I can't get the valance off, can I de-energize the hyd solenoid and will that keep pressure off the pin?
Thanks!

Thank you all for this wonderful community.
Wishing upon you all the very merriest and happiest ever.
I learned something today, that could be useful to others in the future when diagnosing an engine or transmission issue.
In my particular case, I am still trying to figure out why the throttle position sensor was acting wonky when I switched from a DDEC iii to a DDEC IV engine control module. I read a vague reference on the Wanderlodge forum about a dude using VMSPC to show him throttle position.
Hmmm, try as a I might, I could not find a gauge for throttle position. I actually resorted to reading the manual. That’s how desperate I was. A Ha !
This is a bit quirky so bear with me. The first step is to go to the ADVANCED tab on VMSPC. Then click on Sniff for PIDS. The computer will populate a list of items it receives from the ECM. Look at that list carefully, if it states the PID is unidentified, then VMSPC will not allow you to make a gauge of that parameter.
But if you will click on the PID you want, a window will appear that allows you to identify the PID. Do that, and then return to New Gauges Tab. The PID you just identified will be in the list now.
BTW, I think I found my problem on the TPS, a mangled pin connector on the plug in.
