i took the newell to wickenburg yesterday for the local fine arts center to use as a office for the annual circus they are putting on.

my daughter works there and will be staying in it over the weekend.

it got down to 28 degrees last nite.

she calls this morning and says the heater in the front area is blowing cold air but all the others (on other thermostats) are blowing warm air.

so i call our aquahot master rudy.   he asked.....is the fan running....answer yes.

it is about 25 miles to where the newell is.  rudy says to take a hammer and whack the check valve above the front pump in the aquahot bay.

i took a hammer, a relay and off i went

got there.....felt the hose above the front pump and it was not warm.  whacked the check valve with a hammer a few times and walla....hot water flowing now.

rudy....you are the man.....thank you

tom

Has anyone had a air leak over the pocket door that is between kitchen area and bathroom?  I am able to see that it has a cylinder that opens and closes the door but now I am trying to figure out how in the world do you get to it!  I hate leaks!

Thanks
Pam

Hello all,

Has anyone had any issues with a air leak around your brake pedal inside of the coach?  My guess is we are going to have to pull the entire dash and everything on the driver's side to be able to get down to this.  Anyone had to tackle this?  Any pointers?  Richard?  LOL

Thanks
Pam

I'm interested in how often a Newell changes hands from private party seller to private party buyer, versus dealer to private party

I went and looked at several and choose to buy one from a private party. No warranty, no cooling off period (not that it exists), no trade in. No trade in places me in the spot to sell to a private party. It always comes down to pricing for me to sell. Ugh.....

I'm now thinking this may be too personal, expound if you like.

Did you buy from a dealer or private party?

Hello All,
We are in the market for a Newell in the 2000 plus or minus a few years.  We had looked at the Wanderlodge and Prevost in the same year range.  Seems like the bags and various rubber components had a life cycle of around 15 to 18 years....after that you're on borrowed time.

My question for all you Newell Gurrus concerns the rubber components, sans the tires.  What kind of typical life cycle are you all seeing in the following list of items?

  • Air Bags
  • Brake Chambers
  • Heater hoses
  • Radiator hoses
  • Hydraulic hoses
  • Slide seals
  • Engine Belts
  • Window Seals
Those are what I can think of off the top of my head, I am sure there are others and if there is something else that would need to be addressed as a reliability improvement feel free to chime in.

Thanks
Steve

FYI if anyone is interested in a 6V92 rebuilt Government engine....check out GovPlanet and search Detroit engine on their site.  Auction closes on Dec 18, 2018....looks like a previous auction an 8V92 went in the $3,800 range.

with the new slide seal, now the silicone that is on the slide that ideally goes into the creases in the seal in different spots

my question is i only see them on the outer edge of the slide that would go in the crease when the slide is in.

i dont see any on the inner part of the slide that would go in the creases when the slide is out nor does it look like there was any

how are yours?

tom
