At the non rally, Ron Skeen asked me to look at the headlights on his coach. The issue was that they did not provide enough light for night driving. We found with the engine running that the voltage at the left light was 11.4 and the voltage at the right light was 12.4. Although Newell did use relays for the headlights, the extended run of wire from the passenger kick panel to the lights coupled with inadequate wire gauge resulted in the low voltage. Julius @"Pardue101" helped me install relays at the headlights to see if we could improve the voltage. We used 10 guage wiring for both the hot and ground sides. We pulled the left side power from the large 12V terminal in the bay below the driver, and we pulled power from the kick panel hot stud for the right side. We ran new grounds directly to ground studs in the area close to the lights. The voltage increase was very good. We measured 13.8 at the lights with the engine running. So if the graph is anywhere close to accurate, the output of the light was around 620 lumens at 11.4 volts and 1200 at 13.8 volts. On paper we almost doubled the output of the light with the installation of the relays. I am going to leave it to @"ron skeen" to comment on his real world experience of driving at night.
I know this subject has been posted in the past, but we do have a number of new members, AND most importantly the newer Newells already use headlight relays so it would be easy to assume that adding more relays would not be a worthwhile effort.
Will be installing a new generator. Trying to decide between going back with the power tech or maybe a Martin..best gen man you assistance and opinions really matter.. also am putting in A new inverter.. currently have a xantrex inverter.. I know there is differenced between that and the outbacks that are going in the new coaches.. can someone educate me

Hi!
My name is Paul. My wife, Kelly, and I have been looking to graduate from our travel trailer to our first motorhome. After lots of research, we've pretty well set our sights on a Newell, likely in the 1998-2001 vintage. The bus-like construction, quality, detail and continued support from Newell are huge draws for us and typical motorhomes feel too much like our travel trailer -- pull that cupboard open too hard and the whole cabinet might fall down. I've been lurking for some time on the forums and felt it was high time to introduce myself. We're traveling this week to check out a few coaches that we've been watching. With any luck we'll come home with one!
We know we've got a lot to learn and a steep learning curve but we're both technically minded and up to the challenge. It's great to see a strong community of support available and I hope to be able to put forth some positive contributions down the road.
For some, the thought of renting their baby is unthinkable and for others, its no big deal. I would like to hear from those that rent theirs for I'm the "its no big deal" guy. Understanding the need for extreme vetting and hiring a driver if needed, I would love pointers from the owners that rent. Do's and don'ts. We live in Palm Springs, Ca and have heard daily rentals from $1000 per day to $3,000.
Any info would be greatly appreciated before we dive in head first!

Hi everyone!
My wife and I are interested in buying a Newell, using it and also renting it out. My concern is damage to the beautiful cabinets! Does Newell have "attic stock" of the same material or are we on our own. Any advise, on rents that can be expected, how to get damage repaired, etc, would be Greatly appreciated.
Hello all,
I've been lurking for some time, and I just registered so that I could respond to the for sale posts.
I'd like to own a late '80s or early '90s tandem w/8v92
Wish me luck.

Since it was Friday, I had to call the emergency service hotline. I blew a fuse as I was hooking up a vacuum pump for the bedroom slide seal, but didn't know where the fuse was located. With the fuse blown the slide seal would not exhaust the air from the seal to move the room in. I spoke with Newell's slide specialist, I am embarrassed to say I now forget his name, & he identified the fuse in the HWH brain box. Replaced blown fuse & system works again. Thank You Newell for this super customer support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I have owned my coach my dash fan switch has always been 3 very low and one high and since I usually run it on high it has not been much of a problem. This last trip there was times that low was not enough and high was too much so I decided to check into the problem. So I started with the blower switch. I took it out and saw it was made by Ford. Googled it and was unable to find the exact one and the old #s did not match, so took to the local Ford dealer. They did not have it in stock but would have it this morning at 8:00. Picked it up and installed it and still did not fix the problem. I then followed the wires to the socket that was plugged into the input for the fan motor. It did not look like it was plugged in far enough. So I unplugged it and one of the thin blades as bent down. Bent it back straight, plugged it back in and now I have a four speed fan motor. This probably happened when the coach was being built. The blades are very thin and are easy to bend.
So if someone of you are having fan speed problem check the fan socket first. The switch was $27.00.
I need a pdf or other file with the parts breakout on the rail holding the shower door.
