Hi guys, I found a flat on my tag axel after winter storage and it has a lot of cracks showing on the bulge , still a fair amount of tread but I think these tires need to go away. If this dot number is what I think it is they are relics !
DOT N34F 2N34400 Toyo ? Anyone know what these numbers mean ? Thanks Don

hi all,

the numbers are worn off of mine.  here is a picture of my setup.  the aircon compressor is driven by 2 v belts that only service it.  i changed them today.

so.  anyone have the same serpentine belt setup and know what belt number it is?

thanks

I need one or two reclining chairs. I have a couple here that need reupholstering. They are the European style which I like. I have seen new chairs (designed for household use) online for about the same price ($300)as repairing the old ones. I am dubious about the quality of new chairs. The Villa and Lambright chairs (especially for RV use) seem overpriced at $1000.00 apiece.
I'm not sure what to look for other than brand name. (Villa and flexsteel are the only ones I am familiar with). If I have to spend $1000 for a new one I'll recover the ones I have. Can anybody suggest a good source and/or offer pointers as to what I should be aware of?

All,
When we move into 1242 my wife found two Newell Gurus coffee cups which she showed me at breakfast this week. We were at Newell on Tuesday and Wednesday to get the coach after repairs had been completed. The Newell Gurus coffee cups felt very durable. Maybe y'all designed them after the durable Newell Coach.

my 2002 has an amazing dash air.  i did have to change the compressor when i got the coach 5 years ago or so, but it worked great when charged.  but it would lose charge in a week or so.  so after several years of just putting freon in it when i needed it to work, i went to task to find the leak.  of course with richards assistance.  air conditioning just doesnt compute with me, but i am learning.

a year ago i traced the leak to the high pressure side hose fitting on the compressor.  i found a small shop about an hour from my house in an industrial strip mall that makes custom hoses.  i took the coach there, barely fitting in the small paths around the building.  he cut the old fitting off, remanned the one going into the compressor, crimped a new hose on, put 2 new dryers on, new caps and all for like 60 bucks or something like that.

i went home, evacuated it, charged it up and things were good.  it has been about 9 months since i did that and since we are headed out soon, forest and i checked it out today.  of course i couldnt remember the readings i was supposed to get so dr richard was consulted.

he reminded me to use the pressure/temp charts for an rv with longggg hoses, not an automotive chart.

on startup today it blew cold, and the with 80 degree ambient i was at about 12psi low and 160 on the high side.

so i put a few ounces of freon in it and it was at 16-18 low and 180 high.  blowing about 30 degree air at dash.

so, the hose fix worked and was cheap

and maybe i will remember the charge readings this time....or not

My wife and I love our 2004 Newell but no longer use it.
Purchased with 18K miles in late 2004 (original owner was Julie Wrigley), now has 88K miles and is in great shape.
Mid entry, rear bath, 4 roof airs, fully loaded (Newell Show Coach).
Upgraded rims and tires on front and tag, AGM batteries, kept in our Hangar in McKinney TX.
Has a great Aluminum NASCAR (or Star) Viewing Platform on rear roof (hat channel provided by Newell).
Sub Zero, Valid Slides and Leveling system, Spyder Controls, and excellent Paint.
I just upgraded the listings on RVT.com and RV Trader.com, so if you are interested please check it out.
We will be here in our Hangar Apartment in McKinney TX (North Dallas), thru the end of May if you would like to visit.

To keep this information from getting lost in the middle of a previous thread, I have set up this separate sticky post to list the Newell coach numbers by year.

Facts:
1) The current Newell coach numbering system didn't begin until 1983.
2) Prior to 1990, coach numbers were not included in the VIN so information is harder to come by.
3) Newells built prior to 1990 are referred to as a body style of Classics

1983 models ~ 1 through 23? Known 1983 models include coach 7
1984 models ~ 24 through 60?
1985 models ~ 61 through 82?
1986 models ~ 83 through 123 to 125?  Confirmed coach # for 1986 models include 86, 89, 113 and 121.
1987 models ~ 124 to 126 through 157 to 159?   Confirmed coach # for 1987 models include 129, 132, 135, 139, and 146.
1988 models ~ 158-160 through 181?   Confirmed coach # for 1988 models include 166, 179 and 180.
1989 models ~ 182 through 212?  Confirmed coach # for 1989 models include 184, 201 and 204.
1990 models include 213 through 246 (213 was first model 2000 also the first Newell where the coach number was included in the VIN)
1991 models began with 247 through 280, then 282, 285 and 286, the last 1991
1992 models began with 281, 283 and 284, then 287 through 308, then 310 through 311
