Our Freedom 458-25 will not charge any more and we are looking to get a new one.

We are interested in the Freedom SW3012.

Has anyone switched out to one of these. The unit looks like about the same size so it should be easy to mount and hook up. Can you use the old Link 2000 control panel with it or do you have to use the new Xanbus System Control Panel? If you have to change out, are they the same size to fit in the same spot as the Link 2000?

Any tips would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has any tips about why our Freedom 458-25 stopped charging would also be appreciated. We did a hard reset on it like the factory technician told us to do by disconnecting all 12 and 110 volt power for 30 minutes. It didn't get it the charger to work. The unit still inverts power however and there is 110 volt pass through when connected to shore power.

Thanks!!

I would like to convert all the interior ‘puck’ and halogen lights to LEDs.  I searched here but the posts are older and figured they are updated since then.
I did some searching and found some but which lights/model numbers worked for you guys?
We have an LED in the bathroom puck light but it blinks.  I am thinking of going with 4000 lux lights for a semi-yellow glow all over.  Any advice is always welcome.

Gurus,

I tried to start my coach today, and nothin, nada, no dice.  When I turned the key on, none of the dash lights lit up and when I turned to start coach, nothing.  Tried the merge switch in all three positions.  Nothing.

I assumed that the merge relay had failed and that the engine batteries had completely run down.

I went back to relay switch and found a slightly loose wire but all looked in order.

Back to the front and happened to look at my Silverleaf.  Hmmmm.  It comes on with power but does not read anything.  Maybe the key switch. I checked the harness behind the switch but it was also ok.

About that time I jiggled the key and the dash came "on".  I started engine with no problem.  But....I noticed the dash cut off and then on again.

So, now I am thinking that there is a relay that powers everything in the front that is run from the key.  Is that possible?  I have not looked under dash in front of passenger seat but would guess that is where it would be.  Makes sense to me but I have never heard anyone talk about it.

Thoughts?

Hey Gurus, I'm trying to help get my Dads coach ready (1998 #488), and a breaker in the lower compartment keeps tripping. It is breaker #2, and it is labeled as supplying power to: Front TV, Rear TV, Gametable Receptacle, Door Chime, and Instant Hot. This is the breaker panel that is powered by the Inverter/Converter. I have checked all GFCIs I can find. But so far this has me stumped. He says they will be ok without it but I'm not satisfied unless I can provide them with a 100% functioning rig. Makes me thankful for our much simpler 1995 381.

Well, been gone from Oklahoma for a couple of weeks and today, rain came down and water was running in Yvonne's lap..cold water!

i looked at the seal and it had pulled out of the loom that holds it in place. the rear portion had been twisted. of course, called Newell and you know the answer..Must return to Oklahoma and have the seal re-strung..I was able to position the seal so that it sealed, somewhat..I doubt that I could position the slide and fix it..

thought I'd share this just in cayenne of you wizards has any ideas..

Trying to get on the road this morning and the rear slide won't retract.

The front slide came in just fine, no issues.

E-Brake is on and the E-Brake indicator is lit.
The slide seal properly deflates and the yellow/orange light comes on.
The lock pins on top retract successfully (verified visually).
The hydraulic pump motor runs when we hit Retract but no evidence of motion on the slide.

I'm about to test voltage at the Retract solenoid or not, but looking for other ideas.

I was also wondering -- on the hydraulic solenoids, there is a T-Handle on the back of each one. Can that be used to manually operate the valve in some fashion?

I have already got a few inquiries about the 2018 no rally rally at Bella Terra resort in Foley, AL.  Any & all are welcome to join us.  For those of you that have not joined us at Bella Terra before,  our no rally rally is just an opportunity for Newell owners to socialize with other Newell owners in the S/E part of the country.

We will be there from May 1st thru May 14th.  Join us for any time within that period or the entire time.  Bella Terra is a top rated resort with all expected amenities.  They have 3 levels of sites which range from no improvements to full outdoor kitchens.  Make your own reservation for the site  & type you desire.  All Newells are welcome in this park!  Classics too.  The park has a 15 Year old rule, but all Newells will be accepted.  If you have any problems, let me know & I will take care of it.

When placing a reservation, call Katie, who is our contact.  Tell her you are with the "Newell Group" and she will assist you in securing the site you want.  We will be grouping up around Site #349.

The resort is located just a block north of Gulf Shores, AL and is just a 15 minute drive to beautiful white sand beaches.  Lots of good restaurants & shopping to meet any one's taste.  During this period the area has a balloon fest, Art in the Park and a music festival on the beach.  It is only a 1/2 hour drive to Florida.  The Blue Angels put on exhibitions twice a week in Pensacola--free.

Last year we had 13 Newells show up and 3 s.o.b.s  Hoping for an even bigger group in 2018.  Attached a few pictures from last years rally.

Hello All,

Took the bus into the shop to get the airbags, shocks, valves etc replaced and when they took the wheels off the steer axle they found that the brake disks are cracked and the pads are almost gone.... got the call a few hours ago....

I have to find 2 brake rotors, set of front pads and 2 tierod ends ASAP. I have a solid axle upfront not IFS.

The brakes seems to be Knorr Bremse and Bendix is part of the group now.

Does anybody have the part numbers for these parts ?
